It allways struck me as kinda funny that Squenix's attempt to appeal to the west by applying western game mechanics and idiology to their greatest franchise, ended up creating one of the most hated games this gen, FF-IIIX... they've managed to milk IIIX throughout this whole console generation too, by applying the same shity business model we get from EA and activision.
And to think Square used to be the best at what they did, now theyre just riding the coat tails of ...
The problem is FF-IIX is too different from what made it's predecessors so great, if you think Final Fantasy what do you expect? a world map, a deep turned based battle system, intriguing characters, unique and interesting story's set in breathtaking immersive worlds... For the most part FF-IIIX just plain failed at delivering any of what really counted to make it a good game and devolved into a confusingly linear shell of it's former self, a pretty shell but a shell none the less...
At the very least we can be sure we'll be getting some great games from Irrational Games this coming gen.
(Edit)
Forgive my previous mix-up of the dev-team.
Well in my case I just haven't bought the Wii U yet because there's no games out I care to buy the console for, I've talked to a lot of other Nintendo fans on here and that's pretty much their excuse too.
Once Zelda U, Mario U, Metroid U and Monolith soft's X are released then the Wii U sales will have a pretty big increase, IMO of course.
Exactly, I haven't bought the Wii U because there's nothing I want out for it yet, the price isn't the problem so slashing it fixes nothing.
Well I never intended anyone to like my use of the term "hardcore" at least in regards to how Im using it in this blog anyway, since it is used in reference too gamers who see themselves as hardcore and yet also have no interest in Nintendo at all because they don't see them as offering an experience for hadcore gamers.
If you like the legend of Zelda, Mario and Metroid then you're not the kind of "hardcore" gamer Im referring to, there are many ga...
Well I accidental double post... So I may well use this chance to clear up some things.
1) if you like The Legend of Zelda, Mario and or Metroid, then you probably aren't of the "hardcore" gamer variety that m referring too in this blog.
2) Not liking Nintendo does not make you a "hater" or bad gamer, but complaining about them because they don't appeal to you is just petty whining, if you are gaming happily now with Sony or Micros...
Really looking forward to this.
You know when I look at these games and listen to the problems many of these "feminists" and so called "white knights" have against them, I just cant help but think that they are complaining for the sake of complaining, I mean seriously now we're talking about a medium that exists solely to entertain us and for a very long time now the games industry has been male dominated, of course we are going to have overly sexualised female characters but the vast majority of the...
Would sure be intaresting if it's true.
A next generation console exclusive FF title would give Sony's PS4 even more selling power.
I hope so! I heard there's some kind of cross game data sharing or something like that for the Vita versions :D
Gravity Rush looks great :) I just couldn't justify myself getting a Vita for it since there wasn't much else that interested me...
Muramasa Rebirth looks good, I never finished the Wii version so I probably will get that at some point.
And I need to look up the rest cause I don't know what they are, lol.
@TongkatAli
Well naturally I haven't played that yet, but as it stands what Ive seen so far is nothing worth "me" getting excited for buying a Vita over, the idea is for the devs and pubs to sell you their game so until I get some hands on Im not getti...
Oh, but I have tried them.
(EDIT)
To whoever disagreed, could you lend me that physic ball when you're done with it?
Nope just this, I couldn't care less about them since Im not a fan.
I do agree with you, but being that it's so niche would marketing have helped? Those who actually care would have followed the release schedule IMO.
@Snookies12
Im not sure about that actually so I'll have to check, I like my hard copies.
@ TrendyGamers
I agree with you there man, It's kinda stupid they didn't do just that, but Im just happy we're actually getting it haha.
OK, so now I have a good reason to buy a Vita :)
I've played the first 2-3 missions or so of the actual game and I can honestly say I wasn't impressed , it's just more of what we've already seen/done... Having said that though if you're a big Gears fan then maybe you will like it regardless.
If true, hell yeah!
I was hoping they would drop the XIII connection and make it it's own game.
10 years from now EA will have gone into liquidation, hopefully...
This is what happens when you let feminists and white knights dictate the industry, Im fine with gay characters in games that's not the problem, but Lara is not gay and shouldn't be made to be to so in order to be different, gain wider appeal and/or avoid criticism for feminine misrepresentation.
