Its nice to know that devs are wanting to look into 3D gaming and support it, but till the TVs are the price that HD TVs are now then its not going to be widely used. Only people that will get the TVs are people that have deep pockets or high balance credit cards.
Most people here will have saved to get a HDTV (or asked their parents) How many will go and get a 3D TV that will have very little application other than gaming and the odd movie?

TBH its pretty much what xbox live has been getting (except the free games). I'm surprised that Sony haven't added cross game chat (party chat). TBH £40 (aprox) for the features that you are getting does seem like PS3ers have been ripped off, if you want to get benefits like background downloads and stuff you have to pay? you get that for free as a silver member on live. I think that is just a fanboy statement. Both the PS3 and the Xbox are successful and to allow a game to be on both consoles its to stop the segregation. Over the years SE have gained a lot of fans and those fans have either one or both of the 2 consoles. To make people chose is just unfair. SE has fans all over the world not just in Japan. I agree that Japan loves its traditional RPG's (JRPG's) but lets face it a lot of the rest of the world love them too.

Apple charge a lot of money for the products that they have now. If we get a dedicated console from them it probably would cost a fortune. I'm not saying it wouldn't be good but with the likes of Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft heading up this generation I cant see them wanting to take the plunge. I think they will be more likely to try and compete with the PSP and the DS like they are currently are doing, but unlike the Iphone, making a dedicated handheld that's cheaper.

I think the right type of music in a game can really set the atmosphere. The wrong type however can just put me off a game. Its awesome though when you get the right contrast and variety and some of the best games have some of the most compelling sound tracks.

Also because there were 2 versions floating about and most fans already having a dreamcast, shelling out for another console seemed pointless. It was also priced higher!

What is the point? not being funny but if you cant make the game permanently unhackable then 60 days wont make any difference. Also that will probably be broken in a matter of days after being released, just like Ubisoft with their DRM. Only thing they are doing is presenting a challenge to hackers. I have to say I loved it. I loved the way you can pick the type of people that you can play with and I loved the game modes too. I loved the loadouts and the graphics have been greatly improved. The only thing that will be left to see now is the single player mode.
this is bad for gamers on a budget. Its not fair and forcing us to pay more money. Surely there is a way for them to earn money from the companies selling the games instead of the the gamers.

Phil wrote a cracking piece. I have had a big gaming addiction for 21 years now. Just recently I have had to take a step back and let gaming have a break for a while. There are games I want to play, I just cant be bothered at the moment

If you get the majority of what live does for free why would you pay?! 4 games a month is all well and good but if you dont want to play any of the games on offer then you're paying for nothing really.
