@Chevalier.

Sure there's no equivalent to FF7 on Xbox. Until it comes to Xbox lol.

Meanwhile:

There's no equivelant to Gears of War, Age of Empires, Flight Simulator, Grounded, Sea of Thieves, Starfield or Pentiment on Playstation.

These are off the top of my head and none of those are 3rd party.

And that's not even counting upcoming games like, Avowed, TowerBorne, Indiana Jones(them...

They didn't release an all digital console for no reason.

It's happening.

With services like GamePass and PS Plus, Gaming is more affordable than EVER. If you can't afford 10 dollars a month, you probably can't afford 70 dollar games either.

So the affordability argument is out the window.

And you don't own the games you have on the disc. Some games aren't even playable from disc without downloading stuff to your console anyway.

You don't own the game any more on disc than you own the game...

It's not happening any time soon. Maybe nextgen and by then Playstation will probably be doing the same.

Nothing will change if consoles go all digital.
The market for physical games is hanging by a thread.

Xbox players buy digital games the most. But it's not like Playstation is far behind.
Last I heard it's 80 percent for Xbox and 70 percent for Playstation.

There's a reason they both have all digital consoles.

It's going to happen eventually. Nothing is going to stop it.

We just need ...

If Xbox goes all digital. It 100 percent is not happening this generation.

PC gaming has been all digital for ages and it's one of the biggest platforms, only behind mobile.

But Xbox going digital only is "bad for gamers" lol stop it.

Also it's not happening any time soon.

But we know they are not lol.

The same person that started that rumor confirmed that it's not happening any time soon.

Yeah this is getting out of hand. These websites never follow up on the stuff that they post. They'll run with the initial headlines and then never fix them when it's corrected.

I assume there will be the Activision Blizzard roundtable soon and they'll address things then.

I agree, it is worse. Because people on other platforms are paying the same price to get less.

Lol. They didn't just get fired because "MS evil", as you simple minded Playstation fanboys love to tell yourself.

Activision Blizzard had around 9000 employees when the deal was announced. When it was closed they were at 17000.
ABK was heavily overhiring.

Also People wanted MS to clean up ABK and protect the breastmilk.
Well this is what it looks like.

And if you think Xbox hasn't made the industry s...

Is this the first time you've seen a merger happen?

This is literally what happens with every big merger.

Most Xbox users buy digital. We don't complain about all-digital because nobody cares we're used to that since the Xbox 360.
PC gaming has been all-digital for decades and they've been fine.
Not sure how Xbox going all-digital is a doomsday scenario.

With all that said, this could be them just consolidating XGS, Zenimax, Activision and Blizzard's physical departments.
I would take this with a grain of salt and wait for Xbox to con...

The layoffs were gonna happen regardless. Have you seen industry news lately? Everyone is having layoffs. They Would it have been as bad as this? Who knows. But they were against unionization while Microsoft supports it and it turns out, None of the Union workers were affected. So I'm gonna say it would have been just as bad if not worse.

Activision Blizzard was on a downwards spiral. In the next few years we'll see if MS can turn i...

What does profitability have to do with any of this? Out of all the layoffs happening recently. This was the one that was most expected. Layoffs almost always happen after a big acquisition. It's not because of finances. It's because there's a lot of overlap in the job positions.

I was hoping it wouldn't be too bad because they want to keep Activision Blizzard as a separate entity.

But I guess when it's a 70 billion dollar acquisiti...
