You all saw Xbox's E3 (I assume anyway. I always assume people watch all the conferences). You all saw both sony and microsoft had excellent games, not just Tomb Raider (tjg59 I'm looking at you, you've blatantly chosen to ignore the other games. Don't deny it. Don't down play them. You've been caught being a fanboy.)

Fair enough, those games may not be your personal cup of tea but hey, here's me thinking gamers could be objective and accept that a...

As a gamer who enjoys many different genres, I would love to see more JRPGs on XBox.

There is no logical reason why a JRPG shouldn't be on Xbox.

The only reason they aren't more often is we keep being told there is a smaller audience but that's a business reason.

Remember though: There was a 'small' audience for JRPGs in the west in general before the original Final Fantasy VII. All it could take is the right JRPG to spark...

I've read these comments. Not a lot of people have dismissed anything. Most were impressed with both conferences.

I'm very excited about FF7 and Shenmue 3. Thing is, from the looks of things, everyone can play both at some point whether or not they own a PS4. So in the end, everyone's a winner.

I just can't take you seriously. Your post sounds like it's a sure fire thing that Sony 'won'

Xbox had the immediate future Sony had 2016/17.

A slight preference probably goes to the console with the games that excited you.

Either way it was definitely too close to call.

@MasterCornholio

No scare tactic.

He simply pointed out that the awards given bear no relationship to the final game.

The fact that it works both ways proves his point.

Gonna have to wait till we've seen something that isn't pre-alpha (or better yet when the game comes out) to know if it's any good.

It looks cool but I'll reserve judgement.

You and I are playing different games sir.

There are many reasons to use linux over windows but simplicity is not one of them.

Questioning is absolutely fine.

However, there are some that demand it to be changed.

It's these people that I, and I think probably others, are annoyed with.

I would go one step further. Instead of being destructive and telling others 'you can't do this' go and be constructive and say 'I can make this'. People generally make the games they want to play. If you disagree with what others are making, make the games you want to play.

The people making Bayonetta made that game probably because that's what they wanted to play. Nobody gets to tell them what to put in THEIR game.

Why not be constructive and go and make the kind of games that you want to play? So many people seem to know exactly what games developers should be doing and yet in a world where indy games can go toe to toe with AAA games, none of these people that know so much actually put it into practice.

I think that was for the viewers that weren't gamers.

If you asked a non gamer how influential games are, I'm certain they would tell you they aren't.

The twitter bit was spelling it out for them: Video games influenced something many people use everyday.

I understand what you mean. There were loads of influential games that were missed (Ocarina of Time?).

But then I realised that the title of the show was 'How video games changed the WORLD'. Halo was hugely influential for games themselves but had little impact on the world whereas the games in the show were specifically chosen for there impact on the world we live in. Multiplayer had already arrived with Doom so that social aspect that Halo did so well wasn't new...

The article isn't about the original kinect, it's talking about the new one which does work. Also, where does it say that the new one is perfect?

4479d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Except for many things the remote isn't faster. I guarantee I can start a party or start browsing the internet faster with kinect than you can with the controller. No menus to scroll through, straight to the thing you want with a single command that works (in my experience) almost all of the time.

If you are comparing kinect 2.0 to the original, you haven't got a clue and I don't mean that in a nasty way. I mean it in a try the new kinect so you do have a clue kin...

@Dewitt I was about to write a reply similar to yours but you've covered it. The kinect controls are anything but a chore.

4479d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

There is no hope for a terrible game, no matter what control method you use.

The Kinect controls I've been using on dead rising 3 work great, they added them subtly to Forza and the kinect sports demo is very responsive. Fighter within is the odd one out.

I use the Xbox One in my bedroom. The room is quiet but quite cramped. The hand gestures work fine and really add to games in positive ways like the shaking the controller or pointing out where to go for your allies. The voice control very rarely fails; easily more than 95% accurate but it's in a room where the only noise is that from the game. I'd imagine in noisier environments that number would drop but then that goes for humans too.

In other words I can't faul...

I've gotta say I'm enjoying it too.

It's very dumb fun. The game equivalent of watching a Die Hard movie.

I'd already paid for my pre-order before I'd read the reviews, so I was worried. However, I've found it to be pretty good. Not a system seller but worth it if you have an Xbox one.

Who can possibly know right now?

4495d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

While it may not be the case this time (I don't know for sure), it's reasonably common for the review version to be slightly earlier versions to the retail disc.

It allows the game to get in the hands of reviewers quicker.
