So all these new features on PSN lately (video store, trophies, gamer levels, gamers cards, in-game XMB, custom soundtracks) make it pretty much on par with xbox live. Plus Home and the now rumored weather radar and news system, and youtube video recording of any gameplay at any time give it it's own distinct features. So all that is fantastic and I have to give it up to Sony for "fixing" everything they needed to (well except backward compatibility) on PSN and more.

I think the most interesting thing is how close the psp sales are to the 360's. People always want to count the psp out, but it is selling about the same numbers as 360 and rules the roost over in Japan. DS is a juggernaut, and I don't think the psp will ever match it strictly on sales. But that doesn't make it any less of a success on it's own.

What city and state did you buy it in? Maybe someone else might be lucky enough to pick it up early too.
I agree with this article in principle, if not point to point with all it's reasoning for why it is overrated.
When a friend and I decided to give Halo 3 a chance, we played through the first level or two laughing hysterically. It was just so silly, and so many people seem to hold it in such high regard. I just don't get it. The gameplay was fine, nothing distinctive either way- just not worth a dime of the hype it gets.
A recent EGM Quarterman report mentioned that SCEE was working on a game called The Protector, maybe this was the game we were hearing about before- when there was some hype for 8 days?
Either way I audibly groaned when I saw this article, I hope something good comes of this.

Yeah.... actually I agree that I was more excited for the game before I saw that trailer. And whoever mentioned the Gummi Ship from Kingdom Hearts is right on, it immediately reminded me of that too.
I was hoping the big brass gameplay mechanic Rare was touting after the screens had been leaked, was co-op platforming. That would be something to be excited about, this ...I'm not sure now.
Looks solid enough- not amazing like some would say and not bad or a rip off as others say, never played the other ones- seems opinions vary greatly on them- I hope they get released on Virtual Console so I can check them out.
And if your looking for a place where no one will blindly bash games just because they don't own the console it is on- you're not going to find it. Too many people hate what they can't have or don't understand, it's a sad basic of many's human behavior
Like any self-respecting game journalist would say anything good about Haze. It's been delayed once too many times, it's tainted goods now, we're all mad at it.
Tried out the demo just a few minutes ago was really fun, if one of my buddies pick it up I could see co-op being a blast. Graphics were great, nectar was useful and felt like more than a gimmick. What was anyone expecting? It's a good shooter from a team (free radical) that puts out good shooters.
It's Endor all over again...sign me up.

Time will tell, but that video looked pretty janky- not sure I believe any of it, plus why would an official Konami trailer have an advertisement for Assasins Creed in it?
These numbers seem fairly vague. Most of the HD-DVD demise news hit pretty early in January and could have inflated the January sales figures beyond the regular upward curve of sales for Blu-Ray standalone players. Besides these sales figures don't even consider the PS3 which has been selling much better this year.
If anyone believes this, then you're as dumb as Microsoft hopes you are. I have all three consoles (again), and am picking it up for my PS3 because I refuse to pay for online on 360. I think that 50mil would have been better served by putting a few more games into production, something about this whole thing smacks of desperation.
Did you notice how all other screenshots were standard screens when Motorstorm's was a extreme closeup of a crowd that you would never even notice or really see if you just play the game normally. They were just reaching to try to include a PS3 game on the list.
Has anyone actually seen this shortage? I work at a larger department store in my area and we have not run out of Xbox 360's all year. Wii's sell out within an hour or so, DS's don't last more than a a couple days, PS3's sell out about every 4-5 days, there is a case full of 360's at all times. The only thing that I have noticed is the backstock of Arcade units is getting larger, so no I don't think there is a supply problem but they might have oversaturated the market with an unwanted gimped...
Why are people trying to make this into Eight Days Vs. Killzone 2? If they were on opposing consoles and had a similar theme, setting or gameplay type it would be much more understandable.
