Don't even start, Bulletstorm shadows are still plaguing many ATI users, it's been 2 weeks now. The only recommended "fix" for now has been to actually turn off shadows altogether (dynamic shadows, anyway). That's not a fix, that's a forfeit to prevent epilepsy.

the last time ati cards had a problem with a game was the saboteur . and i dont remember ati ever release a drive that burned you graphic card like nvidia did .
you only need 1 pci-e slot for dual core graphic cards ... what you talking is crossfire/sli where you have 2 single core cards working together .

MAJ0R AMD does and been doing since 2007 on other hand nvidia ist not been so good even releasing drivers that burn your graphic card .

im playing the pc version and i have 125 saves i keep recycling between them , my save folder is using 286 MB . you can have up to 1000 saves in this game

really half the games ? can you name one ? because i dont remember a single one that dont work on ati . there was the saboteur but that easy fixed .
ATI is the best choice , better price/performance , low power consumption ( means less heat and more space for overclock ) and now even in drives is better . nvidia still have the most powerfull single core cards but they very expensive and run too hot . if you plan on buying a new card wait for the ati 6000 series or until nvidia drop prices ( but wating for the 6000 series is recommended )
