While I agree with you that Valve has developed great franchises(minus left4dead)the elitist attitude they have always had annoys me. There is a fine line between being self confident and downright arrogant. That being said, Half-life is one of my absolute favorite games ever.

The Warriors and Red Dead Revolver were mediocre? You have very high standards. I'm excited for this game. Rockstar in my opinion has always delivered. There games may not be the pinnacle of technology but they have always engaged and entertained. I really don't know what else a video game is supposed to do.
