I hear ya iceman... I loved PS2, but got 360 because it was out earlier... Was looking forward to PS3, but man, the price blew me away, then from the start it was obvious games were going to be on short supply, so I ended up waiting a couple of years. The bluray thing bothered me too. I knew after a couple of years they would be dirt cheap anyway so that was not a factor for me. It turned out to be an excellent console, but the early years were more about getting bluray into people's home...

Competition in the console market is only ever a positive for all. I do believe Sony went on a major Ego trip with PS3, but slowly they changed and for the better as we can see now. Fair play to ya Rusty. I own both current Gen, but prefer most of my games on 360. If MS gave free money to everyone, I am sure they would find something wrong with it. Maybe they would be upset it was US dollar and not Euros or something... some people never happy, hope they are not like that in general.... or would be very miserable...

If thats your cup of tea thats fine. Last of us was a good game, but it was no Skyrim. I enjoy the odd PS3 game, but 360 was always the preferential platform. Will be the same for me next gen.

Wow, This takes me back to 2006 and the PS3, 'next gen starts when we say so, at any price, now buy me!' I hope MS learn from the mistakes made now, because they did make gaming cool again, helped bring it to higher levels, which Sony responded very well to. Learn MS!
