Along with the OTA digital adapter I could see this being very useful
my TV provider charges 10.00 a month for DVR service.
There is a good reason that the XB1 supports ext HDD as its main memory.
Its pretty good but it still isn't gonna push me to buy a PS4. I've beaten TLoU and have no desire to replay it, I'm put in 100's of hours into Minecraft on every other platform. I don't want to play The Order at all, so the only game of interest is Bloodborne.
If on the other hand you have not played any of these games and are waiting to buy a next gen console than yeah, this is a pretty sweet deal
Any Halo fan has surely played the beta and therefore has no worries. Only unbridled excitement
you've got a decent computer strapped to your head, its gonna cost some cash. Gaming is not the focus of this device, its a standalone computing device and it looks very promising
so much denial. The XB1 is a DX12 box
The X1 is whisper quiet in standby mode or when its fully on. Your power usage stats are way off as well.
yeah it had it at launch
Sony isn't moving forward with AR. Have you used Playroom?? Thats about it
no chance. Its a computer you wear on your head, not just a display
Hold on a second. This isn't about Unity 'running' on Hololens, its about Hololens support built into Unity so you can use one of the most popular game engines in the world to build holographic apps/games. Maybe that doesn't excite you but for someone like me who is already very familiar with Unity I can't wait to start playing with these tools.
Unlike the kinect, I believe the Hololens has turned a lot of heads and everyone you talk to seems to have their own 'best case' use for the device which is why I believe we will see a lot of developers at least try to make something with the tech
don't over complicate it. Take the UI off the screen including the target reticule and that effect alone would be incredible. Also think about the illumiroom they were showing off about a year ago or so. The same effect could easily be achieved with Hololens
Take a game like Elite Dangerous where the UI on screen is already looks holographic. Put that cockpit layout right in front of you in your living room, the results could be spectacular
I would say the biggest 'upper hand' is the fact that the Hololens has CPU/GPU built in so it can work hand in hand with an XB1 without sucking up processing power. Price point on the other hand, I'd bet the PS Morpheus has Hololens beat by quite a bit
Yeah MS is just killing it at build this year
I don't know about that, Mass Effect and KOTR had a great deal of success on xbox
once that wireless usb adaptor comes out for the X1 controller I plan to get a lot of use out of this, mostly for emulators. Hope the lag is tolerable
I'm with you. I put 1000s of hours inton Halo CE. Just graduated highschool and was living in a house with some roommates where we had a permanent system link for 3 xboxs in our living room. Non of the other Halos have grabbed me the same way but I put 40-50 hours into the beta when we had access and I can't wait to get back into it
Does Konami even make games anymore??
The answer is no they do not
