Sony regularly releases their big guns in the spring, Feb is the perfect month because that is when tax returns come. Lot of Sony's heavy Hitters come in the spring, that way they don't have to compete with the shooters that like to come in around November, Think of it like movies, you got the summer blockbusters, the fall award contenders, the January failures, the Holloween horror flicks.
Sony has kinda set the timeframe for Epic adventures to be in the Feb-May time frame.

I haven't had time to turn on my ps3 or ps4 in about a month. When things come that are REALLY awesome I find a few spare hours here and there but still definitely can't give the time I gave to gaming even 3 years ago. Work full time as well as draw 2 weekly webcoimcs that take about 6 hours a page so that is over 50hours a week I lose that I can't give to my love for gaming.
Then there is netflix... damn netflix cutting into my gaming time...

I highly doubt they'll overtake sony in the US. Yeah the 360 did well here, but there are so many people that have turned from MS, even before the whole x1 issues many didn't like the lack of support the last few years on the 360.
I'd say it will sell evenly in the US but don't think it will overtake it.
