Well, don't get me wrong -- you're still totally allowed to poop in a box. No judgement.
Glad to hear you've been enjoying them! I've been through my fair share of headsets from a variety of brands, but I'm really impressed with ASTRO's design, comfort, and sound, especially when it comes to PC gaming.
Don't we all! Only a very small group of companies are actually licensed for official Xbox One headsets, and they have to wait until Microsoft produces a microphone adapter. Hopefully we'll be seeing it soon!
All the evil powers of a cat, and you don't even have to poop in a box.
I'm still blown away by the A38's noise cancelation. The room was literally sucked away. And the comfort of the headset was INSANE.
It's a shame you can't automatically track hours due to Sony's limitations. I have an entire PS3 collection I'd love to add, but I'm simply too lazy to track hours manually. I feel as though it would definitely change a few results.
Damn, I need this game ASAP. Awesome job as always, Malik.
It's all about that win/lose ratio! Also, look at some of the people who have a high KDR. Their score per minute is weak -- a lot of recon/campers. I don't care if you have the highest or lowest KD known to man. Are you going to play your kit and the objective? Good, welcome to the team.
Great 101 article. I think a lot of people forget that Battlefield is based in teamwork. Play your kit, have eyes on your squad's position, and MARK. A win is a group effort. A lot of people get intimidated when they're playing against a team of 80-100s, but I've found that a large percentage of them like to spam OP weapons and base their tactics off K/D. Play the objective, be fair, and have fun. A lot of people forget that it's just a means of entertainment.
I couldn't even take part in the BF4 beta today. I tried all the tricks (Time zone, Locale, etc). It's just been a hectic day for devs. I'm going to give it another shot tomorrow and see what happens.
What's 'outside'?
Loving the satire. I mean, I can't believe all the backlash that Rockstar is getting today. I understand that people want to be able to use this amazing feature, but you can't expect for a multi-billion dollar game to launch smoothly -- I can't even tell you how many people were trying to get on today. Problems are expected! We all just need to go with the flow and let Rockstar work out the technical issues. Don't worry, folks. We'll all be robbing each other in no time.
Hmm, this calls for a duel. Gentleman, grab your pistols.
Unless he's leading us to believe something, and then BOOM. Kicks our asses while we're not even looking. Art of war, man. This is the hood.
Oh god, here we go. For some reason I'm imagining an army of blimps raining hell upon the earth. Anyway, I'm excited to see what's in store for everyone.
I had such a blast on the podcast! Thanks to Barry and Brit for having me! I'd love to come back any time. I had a chance to watch the first episode of SHIELD, and I was a little disappointed. I'm going to tune in again this week in hopes that they can really surprise me. Marvel's been good to me thus far, so I'll give them some time to work out the issues. I just hope the show doesn't fall in to a boring, cyclical pattern.
Really, the debate is more than just *children playing games. There are a vast majority of research reports that observe the effects of violent video games on children, but you also have to look at the claims being made today. The Sandy Hook shooting? Video games came into play. The Navy Yard shooting? Video games came into play. It's not just children we're arguing about now -- it's expanded to everyone. Being a sociology major in college, it's hard for me to ignore the issue...
Still, it’s the media who continually perpetuates biased claims. And as consumers, we eat it up. They stand as an influential platform, watched by millions of people every day. Yes, you’re absolutely right. Parents do need to be responsible for what their kids are watching and playing, and people need to use judgement when it comes to differentiating between game violence and real world violence. Sadly, that will never happen in full. We will always have people who refuse to do their research...
I agree. I had a nice dialogue going with my Uncle this morning, and he mentioned to me that when he was young, they blamed violence on television. We agreed that with every technological advance, there will be some type of correlation with violence. It will be interesting to look at the same subject in another 30 years and wonder "why did we ever blame gaming?"
After having some hands-on time with the Piston, I'm a little disappointed and thoroughly unimpressed. While marketed as a multi-purpose machine, they really focused heavily on the gaming aspects of the console during this year's CES. I was immediately turned away by the disappointing frame rate of every game running on the Piston. Graphically, it just wasn't there, either.
Granted, there are some really great features, including the addition of a modular computer...
