I'm not sure if you read the post I was replying to - no mention of PC, only console. Of course PC is scaleable, its not closed hardware like a console.
Closed hardware allows devs to optimise their games/engines to take full advantage of the hardware.
Thats what I like most, seeing the evolution of games over a consoles lifetime. Sony 1st party are the Gold standard for getting the most out of the console they're working on.
Scalability - ugh - what a terrible notion from a console manufacturer.
Good for 3rd parties not 1st party.
It's going to be the rrason ms gets smoked again next gen. People ain't buying the current gen consoles from ms.

gniosdb - The PS5 is built from the ground up to do one thing. Also its SSD is far beyond what will be in most PC's.
That's the advantage the next gen consoles will have over PC.
Expect to be blown away what you'll see next year on PS5.
Sometimes it's better to do nothing, like in this case.

Sony had PC cross-play for many years - but not in a competitive MP environment where cheating thrives. Different things mate.
It was also championed by certain gamers due to the console wars, works both ways. Except one fan base got more out of it - which one do you reckon?
Abnor_Mal - spot on, cross-play is not needed. It facilitates cheating on all platforms now, not just PC.
A good game doesn't need their player based padded out on PS5 or PC.
It seems to only benefit a certain company that hasn't sold close to the 200 million consoles they projected they would.
My main gripe is with cheating PC gamers, if console games are crossplay - I can live with that.

Exactly what they should've done.
PS5 is going to outsell outperform, outclass and outlast xsx. No one, literally no one outside of ms fan base has the slightest interest in anything from ms.
I like the shape of xsx when its standing up.
Happy? That's all you're gonna get. Deplorable company with no backbone and a rabid fan base that eats up lie after lie.
Does it look good though? Be honest. No it doesn't. Call it out for what it is, but anything is a positive when no one likes you.

You lot are just riding a massive PR wave from ms, once they've got you all again - business as usual.
It would sell well anyway, it doesn't need a console to promote it. The game isn't even bundled with the ugly looking thing.

Desperate move by ms - Don't special edition consoles usually ship with the game they're based on?
I understand the game being delayed has caused this, but ms should be smart enough to cut their losses and release a special edition xsx about 6 - 12 months after it's launch.
Another inspired move ms, they just don't get it.
Best platform would be PC I would've thought. And those tflops you covet so much will amount to nothing in the real world.

3rd party = OK cross gen games.
1st party = should be releasing exclusives for the new console.
There needs to be a reason to upgrade.
ms release their games cross gen - base model is xboxone, top tier is xsx. Thats a huge difference, almost sounds like a bad idea. In fact it is a bad idea.
