I understand that some , when given the choice of buying the same game on a portable system (50$) or a home console (60$) , they might choose the home console version, but me personally I would much, MUCH rather take the game on the go with me, therefore I'd buy the Vita version.
We all want new experiences and those are coming as well, look no further than Gravity Rush. And let's see what's in store at E3.

Also excited for The Last of Us gameplay and whatever they have lined up for Vita.
Some people won't be happy until they get the system for 149.99 with a 16gb memory card preloaded with Uncharted, Unit 13, Super Stardust and Escape Plan. And even then, they'll still complain it has no games. :|

Gamers can always expect Big things from Sony.
My hopes are on The Last Guardian revealed (that would be AMAZING!!!!), some cross-play functional Vita/PS3 stuff, and some big exclusives for Vita announced. Also can't freakin wait to finally see in-game footage of The Last of Us.
