Yeah I understand where you're coming from. I just wanted to add that I just saw a live stream on GameSpot and guess who they where interviewing ? Ed Boon. This is what he said. "This Mortal Kombat will be the fastest Mortal Kombat in terms of gameplay"(Can't remember it word for word). They're actually adding some depth to the fighting mechanics this time around.
"The combo system is simplistic, yet complex. It’s extremely open – so a regular jump kick or punch can be combined with special moves and other regular attacks to perform combo strings. These can completely decimate your opponent as we witnessed a 13-hit 63% damage combo that one of the developers performed."
Yeah, but it was a mistake. I refreshed the page and that sentence changed to "due for a release next year and was easily the best game we played at E3 2010"

Either way having a cross game chat would be better. I'd rather be chatting with my friends via the console we're playing on. Everything would just be much simpler. That's just me you probably feel different about it.
Edit: @KewlKat I know right ? that's just laughable. Why use a phone if we can use cross game chat? Why use an ipod if we can have in game music ? these people want no progress.
Having a phone on your ear while gaming is a better alternative to using a headset ? In terms of Simplicity and Comfort.
