No, the game is not overhyped the game was a masterpiece in all ways.
But I do agree with him on others points in the article. When I'm looking for treasures, it's tough you have no idea which ways are the right way/wrong way. Areas that look accessible are usually not, and treasures are in some of the most unlikely places. In trees, not on the linear path. But this no where takes away from the gameplay experience itself. With the obvious ps3 drop coming, and the fact that their is most likely backstock on elites, that it makes sense.

I've nearly watched the whole game be played with a commentary, and I already can tell I'm going to enjoy it a lot, from what I've seen it follows the style of FFX a lot. I personally enjoyed X a lot. The areas are HUGE too.
