You can't be a portable and console and expect to do either well. Jack of all trades and all that. The PS4 and XOne have clear strengths, the Switch has no clear strength.
@ Homushi I am a fan and the Zelda series it's what has kept me in gaming so long, it's just that good to me. I even went out of my way to get limited edition Zelda 3DS's as the series is just a fantastic creation.
Breath of the Wild is a great game but too many things annoy me, some more than others like when fighting I'm spending more time on the inventory screen than actually fighting. It feels like a Jack of all trades Zelda but master of none.
I am a massive fan. I just find this game has things that just don't work to make it great.
The other Zelda games weren't full of those silly mini game shrines, the weapons didn't break, if you wanted to play as Link traditionally with a sword and shield you could, the dungeons were more fun, you didn't die the moment you got touched by a leaf. The exploration is done a lot better in this game but the other stuff needs serious work I feel.
After playing this for around 30 hours I can't see how it could get 10's. I'm a massive Zelda fan and I feel it's a great evolution that sticks to the Zelda formula while evolving it but as an open world game it feels very standard overall. A great game but nothing worth all those 10's at all.
edit: I personally see it as in between a 7 and 8.
Well, if it gives that game exposure that's only a good thing.
Maybe you can also use the stand that comes bundled with the Kid Icarus 3DS game? I got both stands but no Switch though.

No, I mean I'm loving Sony more than Nintendo right now because the new console is just not showing anything good (Zelda is on my Wii U). Since seeing Splatoon 2 and MK8 not adding much at all and both retailing here for £60 I've just decided to buy a PS4 now because it keeps showing me stuff a gamer wants.
edit: for comparison new PS4 games are £40.
They can f off and will never persuade me to re-buy MK8. I purchased all the DLC for that thing and the online is still busy. No reason whatsoever to pay like £50 for technically the same thing.
And Splatoon 2 looks like Splatoon 1 and doesn't seem to play much different. I'm starting to love Sony more than ever right now. That big wad of cash I got waiting for the Switch restock is likely going to be thrown on a PS4 soon.

It's a brilliant experience. Glaring flaws though like lack of dungeons, a staple of Zelda games just annoys me, the weapon system sucks and they've made Link seem like a wimp who can't fight to save his life.
I still love it though despite those flaws. Better to play a flawed game that has class than a flawless game with none.
Amiibos don't give you anything special. No one buys Amiibos for DLC. It's mostly a collector thing with random game bonuses.
