If they did that this game would be so far removed from what Zelda games are all about that it just wouldn't be Zelda anymore. I love how they've evolved the series into a proper open-world, but if they started adding sleep and stuff in there they may as well call it something else.

Blame the developers more for caving in and actually removing the character. It just means the activists will get more confident and cocky. The dev is the fool here.
