Open world is great when it works but it's absolutely dreadful when it doesn't. This is why not all games need to be open world and developers should focus on the best way to tell their story. If linear gives the best result, then go ahead and make it the best linear game possible.

It isn't the best but it does set a solid foundation. Hopefully Evo & Sony won't leave it behind due to the issues suffered at first and they build upon it. If one can see the bigger picture, the IP has serious potential.

Lame sarcasm aside, I agree. I hope the game turns out to be awesome. Multiplayer can come later as a free expansion or come with the sequel, once the IP is truly established.
I'm really excited for this one, even if it turns out to be a bad game. However if it turns out to be an excellent game, it truly exposes all those who are bias in the media.

I agree, lots of gamers here complaining and saying they want gaming to evolve, yet this is basically it. Since 3D came to be in games, we've been playing the same games with just much improved visuals, animation, story telling, etc.
Sure VR failed before but that was also because tech was far behind, not so much now, especially on capable PCs. Once proper VR and motion games come to be, well imagine games in form with Sword Art Online...

Yeah I think I'm pretty much well covered and oh look no yearly regurgitated releases or possible Ubisoft failures.
Possibly, it'll be most that have a release date near Holiday 2015. That time frame belongs to the yearly regurgitation and/ or over-hyped games.
Makes sense since most of the original team went along to form Respawn. Infinity Ward is without a doubt a shadow of itself.
