Go for RDR bro you wont regret it there is so much to do and the free roam multiplayer with friends is just cherry. If you need to get RDR, and then hit the used PS3 section at Gamestop or Gamefly for a good discount. You can find JRPG's for as low as $5 or $10 to take care of the JRPG fix.
RDR shortages are for 360 and PS3 versions. N4G has a nifty search function up ^^^ there next to browse or you could use Google. Trolls have a very selective memory.

With the install base of the 360 and PS3 so evenly split the only exclusives left will be first party or paid third party content. For online gaming I agree just look at the numbers for Halo, MW2, and BFBC online. Hell people are still playng the crap out of Rainbow Six, Shadowrun, and Ghost Recon.
