Just get the Nyko pack or wait a week or month till they release a better battery that you can buy.
You dont really need 10+ hours for a handheld though.

Here are my launch day plans.
Pick up the 3DS and SSFIV and Pilotwings from GS at 12. Then at 9am head to Toys R US to get Ghost Recon and Rayman for $60 for both.
Guys you can download this game as a silver member too, just will be missing out on the co-op.
Also why not just play it on the PC?

Even though 4 hours is just fine im getting the Black one so that Nyko battery pack will look just fine on it. Hell might as well get it to pump 8 hours.

Personally I enjoy it and considering amazon and gamestop are running out of units to ship and will have to ship pre orders till mid April...seems like it will do fine.

I dont think we will see an announcement till 2013 or 2014. Maybe a hint this year but no announcement unless it was announced that you could switch out the MB/GPU.
2 things that I want to see happen with this system
A) me fighting an enemy in first person and he suddenly drops thanks to my ally stabbing him in the back
B) blow a hole into a building only too see the end of an epic fight with the enemy getting decked in the head and knocked into a door or thew a window.
Also this is great for stealth purposes.
RE4 was actually GC exclusive first then went to PS2 :)
Really happy this is heading on both 360/PS3 more people able to experience classics they might have missed out on :D
