I've already downloaded it, it's TRUE! V1.92.
For me consols have always taken a back seat to PC's, but present gen caught my eye, and thus has my time for the next few years. I didn't want a $2,000+ PC. PC's have always had superior abilities, and the consols are trying to mimic these abilities, unfortunately that will also come with the consols mimicing the PC's prices, as we begun to see.
True though, it's about fun, not graphics. I personally favor so called "sandbox" games where you can play with the phys...
I would ask anyone who says the author is a 360 hater to be intelectually honest, and identify which of the 5 things he has listed you would like to see continue in the future?
Someone shows up and says "My 360 gave a red ring, and no longer works, I didn't want that to happen!" and we swarm from every corner to identify the XBox hater, afterall, we love it when OUR systems fail.
I belive it will be back to PC gaming for me, come next gen in 2010. We g...
Let's reflect again upon the dev's statement:
"The version of the level shown in the PS3 shot has been through one or two more detail passes than the one shown in the 360 shot. That said, all levels (single player and multi) use identical geometry and textures across all platforms. If nothing else, the shots show an interesting look at the evolution of a level."
The context of that statement is an admission that the PS3 version looks superior (atleast i...
In their robotic way, all the XBots have claimed the 360 version looks better, even though that's not the case. As we know the 360 version is a earlier build however. As a PS3 fan I'm excited to see these screens, because it would appear we'll not be getting the short stick like we always do with multiplatform titles. Surely there will be endless debate about which version looks better in the end, as I expect both versions to look great, but all the fanboys will still have to argue that th...
I'm not a fan of the mini-game idea. Such a minigame would take a few hours, at most, to get used to, and then you'd be left wishing you could just press a button to perform the desired action, rather than play a minigame that you've done 60,000 times already.
As a PS3 fan, I hope this dosn't turn out to be the understatement of the year. Although their statement that they want this to be a competitor on all platforms gives me hope. If they deliver, they'll get my money. If the PS3 gets the short bus version, I'll be keeping my money.
I'll be picking this up just to support Insomiac; not as an act of charity mind you, the game will deliver what is paid for. Heaven knows I can find worse games to spend my money on.
In the meantime you can call Bungie and complain about your 360 that's now being used as a night-light, because it's incapable of doing anything besides producing a red ring of light.
If Sony is responsible for the slow framerate in Madden, then Bungie is responsible for the 360's high failure rate.
If the system that is easier to program for is always the better, then I argue that my 15 year old computer running DOS text based games is far superior to your XBox...
If EA wants to produce a sub-par product for the PS3 owners, they can't keep their product, and I'll keep my money.
The PS3 is better. But, even IF the 360 was a little bit better, any non-lazy developer is going to be able to get a game running ALMOST as well on the PS3, IF the 360 is better. The fact that there is such a lag in the Madden version is a negative reflection on EA, and as stated, they'll not be receiving any of my money for this one.
Interestingl...
"Mommy! The PS3's been sitting on my legs to long, and now I can't feel my feet."
"Don't worry about it honey, it's normal for that to happen when you have a lead brick sitting on your lap. We could try setting it up here in the front seat like last time, but remember how you complained that you couldn't see the 7 inch screen from back there?"
LOL, a very portable screen on the very stationary PS3. I love my PS3, but it's not exactly portab...
There are no more original games! It's all the same "Hey, use this input device to alter whats happening on your TV, or output device." LAME!
To be serious: It's all a matter of how liberal you want to be. ANY game can be accused of being unoriginal, or of stealing from other games. In my opinion this game looks original.
The ET theme song will be used as the central musical theme in SW:TFU rather then the over-used Star Wars themes. Agree or Disagree?
I'm looking forward to watching it tonight. :)
It's a good idea to get a RTS to ride in the wake of the hugely successful Halo series, I don't think this game will live up to is FPS counterpart though, which is a solid, well made FPS. On the other hand though, the quality should atleast transfer over, so RTS fans can likely expect a high level of quality out of the game; but I don't see it competing with other huge RTS installments. All my humble opinion, little has been revealed, and much remains to be seen. My estimations are admitedl...
Improvements always welcome, but whats all this talk of Resistance lacking? I love the game, granted my last FPS to compare was Red Faction. Like I said though, improvement is always welcome.
It's all a matter of where you wish to draw the line. By some (and probably most) standards the PS3 is closer arcutecturally to this computer, but change the standard just a bit (or maybe a bit more) and you could say "This supercomputer uses transistors, and so does the XBox 360."
It does show a inovation by Sony, however, an inovation that really has no affect on the market, as the market cares about the output only, not the inner workings that produced the output....
I think the 15 min ban is appropriate. In the rare case that someone loses their internet connection, they may very likely be down for 15 mins anyways. I do not support any punishment more severe than this (and I almost would object to this, except after further thought on the matter I've decided it is fair), afterall, you are using a feature provided by the game, and you are using it the way it was intended to be used, there is no EULA violation, why would you be banned? Sounds like groun...
Maybe this isn't what you intended, but it did give me an idea. Next time I'd like to see a "vote for which screenshots look better" where there is a blind implemented and the fanboys wont know which consol they're voting for. There would still be argument afterwards though. "It looks 10 times better on my 360 than it does in those screens!" -or- "They were using component cables with the PS3, no wonder it looks like crap!" All this, of corse, would begin whe...
Am I the only one that noticed the lower portion of the picture on that site, the part that says "We will release full information on both of these on Friday. 22/06/07: Some users have experienced problems with..."? I suspect that isn't related, as it has it's own bullet, and seems out of context. Also, the 22nd was last week (if you didn't know).
Anyways, I'll be out of town for the 4th (American Independance Day, for my international friends) and when I get back...
As long as the graphics are atleast comparible, they'll have some of my money in the future. I'm impressed that they manned up to address the Madden issue, rather than just ignore it.
