The average joe is sure not buying a ps4/xbone either.
Most average joes will be fine with a ps3/360.

Since the 90s there have been settings that can be made to make sure your game can only display a certain amount of characters. only 12 character on screen at a given time,etc. Instead of implementing this your logical approach is to just not play in said zone. That is just plain wrong.
If you buy said game you should be able to play anywhere at optimal settings.

Indeed "End of Life" on current gen will be years from now due to Gamestop having so many used games for resale. You can see it coming to an end when Gamestop and other stores stop accepting the consoles...until then its smooth sailing!

The more people are on screen the more a system is being taxed. Companies do not tell you the min frame rate they tell you about the max. Simple business...
Even the most expensive rig could freeze to a halt if you throw 100s of players casting different spells etc. This is simple and you see it in MOST mmos on PC (yeah but its a console...) ask PS3 players about that one when they are doing FATES and ...
No reason to cry. You can enjoy your console like graphics I will take a dedicated device any day over smartphone gaming which is easily forgotten.

when there is money to be made there are deals to be made.
They do not need the cash right now. Whenever they want to do that they will release it.
They want everyone to move over to NEXT gen. I doubt gamers who own the ps3 will be content playing JUST ps3 when next gen is floating in their face day after day. In fact, I believe most people are going to pick it up.
Now in two years PS3 will be a great cheap deal for people who do not have much cash. Plenty of fun to be had in the bargin bin and so many deals on the psn store.
Take a look at samsung/apple.
Business is business and if money is to be made they will make a deal...
