I don't think they would surprise us with a western localization reveal during a Japanese event so... This is kinda disappointing no matter what they show. =/
that's higher resolution than a DVD and it probably should look better than even Netflix with its badly compressed "HD" movies.
meh. I still play PS2 games on HDTV and the Vita has way higher resolution, so it should look fine.

so very true what you speak. 90% of my library of games for all consoles from the Sega Master to the PS3 are mostly Japanese games and the truth is that JRPGs these days are pretty mediocre with the generic anime moe art-style to annoying and archaic battle systems. Like seriously, beside a very few of them like Valkyria Chronicle I really do not understand how this genre still has fans on consoles.
on paper western RPGs are superior in every way: graphics, story, gameplay, everything. But as everything comes down to what you like then... Who knows.

The game you play online you play it on the servers the game's publisher is paying for not Sony. This paying to play online is a complete scam and the worst thing is, that people are falling for it!

Just because you guys see value on this it dos not mean everybody has to see it too. Because the truth is that I don't see the value in it, especially when I hardly buy digital so I'm not taking advantage of discounts, most of the games they offer I don't care about them but I still have to pay if I want to play some sporadic online matches. But as a kickstarter game and only a $100,000 budget, what kind of game can they make for the PS4 when they are targeting so many platforms? PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and Vita. This is gonna be either a total mess or a crappy looking Super Nintendo game.
why? They both probably cost the same to make and everything. The only difference is that one is an earbud and the other a headphone and that is it. At the end, both just poor's man mics.
I don't know why people complain so much about this when those head-sets that come with the consoles are a piece of garbage anyway. They break so easily you might even end up buying a better one, like a blue-tooth or something, in the same week.
you pretty much know the game will suck when they are using that as a selling point instead of the gameplay and story. And not to mention the games keep getting smaller and smaller. FF13 was a couple of linear maps with I think 8 (?) playable characters. FF13-2 is just a bunch of disjointed maps with some branches and only 2 playable characters. FF13-3 has a freaking time limit and only 1 playable character... I don't know what the hell is this but FF is not anymore.
