beat-‘em-up are games like Street of Rage, Final Fight, Ninja Turtle IV: Turtles in Time, etc. Completely different kind of games to 2D fighting games.

it's kind of funny how similar these 2 are in design because the old TB games were so different. The cinematics, the cover system, the stealth, the focus in character development an story telling, etc. The new TB game is more like an Uncharted spin-off than an actual TB reboot.

to be clearer, the CPU (on the PS4) DOES NOT do graphical tasks (it CAN'T), what it does is that it "stacks" them for program execution. That's what Run-Time System means.

AMD CPUs are really bad but their GPUs are on par with Nvidia's and in many instances even superior.

that's not what they are saying... They are talking about replicating the efficiency not its capabilities. Cores can't render graphics, SPUs are not normal cores.

to play FF7 now you'll need lots of imagination because the game's ugly and archaic as hell. It's impossible to play it without the nostalgia goggles at this point. It aged terribly bad.
I played it for the first time a couple of years ago but I'm used to those graphics since I still play old games once in a while but people that only play current gen games... They will not be able to digest it.
Square has nothing to go back to. Most of their talented developers already left the company. What they need is a miracle in finding new talents other than Nomura.
Killzone looks last gen compared to Battlefield 4. And not to mention that the maps are not only bigger but the destruction is incredible and that requires an insane amount of calculations. But Battlefield was running on a $900 dual GPU after all... They can't be compared.
