let them have their hits while it still is a relevant topic. XD

and to have more stuff on screen, bigger maps, more varied textures, etc.

true and the thing is that at the end the better GPU on the X360 helped it greatly to get better multiplats. So this makes it painfully obvious that as good as the Cell was by helping the RSX at the end:

GPU > CPU for gaming. And even more these days with GPGPU implementations the CPU part has become almost completely irrelevant when it comes to design games.

is not the studios fault, it the people's fault. Beside COD and some other very few games people have hardly experienced 60 frames (outside PC gamers). So when it comes to surveys and stuff that these companies do to their customers they all say that they don't care about high frame-rate. But is not that they don't care, it's that they haven't experienced it and they really have no idea what exactly it is nor how awesome it is.

Between resolution and frame...

word!

60 frames should be a priority and then built the rest of the games around it. But not every game benefits from high-frames though, it depends on the genre. Fighting games, racing games, first person games, platformers, hack & slash, etc. they all benefit from the high frame-rate greatly.

But slower paced games like RPGs, RTS, stealth games, etc. there is no difference if it runs at high or lower frames-rates. 60 frames might look cooler but really...

haha

I was thinking the same thing. Because when you think back the PS3 had HDD on every console so the only way that comment would make sense is if his talking about an SSD. But SSD would mean expensive as hell and very small space which wouldn't make sense for a system that will have so many types of digital distributions.

like always, the ones that speak the truth have the most disagrees on N4G. This site has lots of very clueless users.

yeah it wasn't a dev, it was Ken Kutaragi who said that based on theoretical power. And beside with did get a few 1080p/60fps games like Sega's Virtua Tennis, some basketball games, Ridge Racer and Super Stardust actually ran at 1080p/120fps, so it was possible. It just depends on the kind of graphics devs want to push.

what they said can't be more clear dude. There are newer techniques that can be used on newer GPUs that weren't possible on the outdated PS3 GPU (RSX). =/

then guess what... Driveclub is open-world! And I don't know if you'll like this part but it can only be played in first person but at least you can get off of your car to look at it from outside.

no bottlenecks doesn't mean that it has infinite or monstrous power, it means that each part of the PS4 will be fully utilized unlike the PS3 with the Cell, RSX and low memory that was riddled with bottlenecks. It means that the hardware will be very efficient. It means that the PS4 will be worth every penny.

this really doesn't look very good. Is this an indie game?

funny thing is that most of their audience is on PlayStation but they keep making the sequels on Nintendo's systems... And yeah, they all flopped. These Japanese companies are just so clueless and I have to wonder why? Why are they so stupid?

just when I thought I had a valuable game now they come and release it on PSN which mean that prices for the original copy will fall like a rock just like it happened with Grandia, Xenogears, etc. ;(

Meanwhile Suikoden II prices are skyrocketing and still not release. And I want to play that game without having to pay $200 for a disc in bad condition with no manual or case! The game's not even rare for god's sake. But thanks to a few morons that started to bend and pa...

man, Yakuza is one of my most fav series and I was really anticipating the Yakuza 5 release this year. I was anxious to play as Haruka and see what the plot was all about. Return to Kamurocho and kick some major ass with the always bad ass old man Kazuma!

People really don't know what they are missing on by ignoring this amazing series. Particularly if you're a Shenmue fan or a weaboo anime fan Japan freak. If you can play garbage like Neptunia, Dynasty Warrior and Mi...

not to mention PS2 emulators run on PCs that have lowers specs than the PS4 so there is not excuse in even dropping BC of PS1 too! If the PS4 will use x86 architecture why Sony can't pay those guys to port their ePSXe and PCsx2 emulators and then sell the software through PSN for those that care? Everybody wins and Sony makes its money too!

We Win, they Win. Everybody Wins! I mean, Ouya will have emulators so why the PS4 can't have them too? Imagine Sega selling Dream...

same here. Gaikai acquisition was just a waste of money for Sony if you ask me, it was a little too soon. That thing is not gonna work until the internet evolves much more.

When 20MB becomes the standard then that will be the day... As of now latency will kill gaming through Gaikai.

@kreate very true. Too bad those 60GB PS3 are so unreliable though and now they are really expensive through Amazon. ;(

People gave the middle finger to gaming history just to save on a couple of bucks. Not even worth it because Sony said that the PS2 chip on the PS3 was pretty cheap but that they did some surveys and most people said that they didn't care for BC so they removed it. What a mistake, the masses always making the most retarded choices.
