Traffic Checking. I loved that. If you hit a non-racer in BO3 you'd crash, in Revenge you would smash them out of your way (unless it was a head-on).
I loved Burnout Revenge, it's my favourite one. It's also on the X360 in HD and 60fps. I think that's the closest we'll get to a remake/remaster. I don't know why they never put in on PS3, probably because the PS3 never came out until later.
What about a semi-open world like the rebooted Tomb Raider games?

So the development team is still working on DLC for TWII? WTF? Why? Anyways, I enjoyed TWII when I played it years ago, maybe they'll do a remaster for PS4/X1. I hope they do, I'd love to revisit it and it could help build hype for TWIII.
I haven't played JC3 in years so I don't know if it looks any better, but it certainly has more variety in the locales. I felt everything in JC3 looked the same.
I'm currently playing it on a standard PS4 and the game looks fine to me. And even if it doesn't look as good as it could, it's an obvious design choice so they could have a much MUCH more stable frame rate and faster load times.
What's next? Violence of course.
