No, it isn't ridiculous to be upset; it's ridiculous to act the way that they are over such a small, asinine issue. It really doesn't significantly impact anyone's experience with their PS3.
I can see where not being able to delete the icon could be mildly irritating, and you should be able to delete it, but it's still a pretty small matter. People are actually acting outraged and becoming verbally abusive over it. That's what is ridiculous.

Ridiculous, misplaced outcries over asinine bullshit, spewing vitriol all over the internet like entitled children... this is why we can't have nice things...
Do these people not realize that they actually damage the community, not strengthen it, through these kinds of action? People are so quick to wield their pitchforks and torches, all under the pretense of being "defenders of quality and choice." I'm all for people voicing their opinions, but i'm so...
This list doesn't have any of the insane, massive, time-consuming, and impressive projects people have accomplished in Minecraft in it? Those are self-imposed challenges.
My biggest fear, honestly, is the apparent shrinking interest in both single player experiences, and split-screen/local
co-op. That's a trend I would like to see change, but I doubt it will.
My PS3 can process more sarcasm and irony per second than your PS3 can. 1337
That remake did look pretty fucking sweet. Didn't the DS release add some extra stuff, talking about Dalton taking of Guardia using technology developed with a piece of Lavos, prior to the events of Chrono Cross?
Snookies: Fair enough. I would like to see it as well, but I would not like to see hordes of angry gamers ranting about how awful it is, or how it didn't live up to the hype, or how they should have never made another one, when many of those same people have been praying for a sequel for ages.
Thank you, by the way, for giving an intelligent, thoughtful, mature response, even though you disagree. :)
Listen... I love Chrono Trigger as much as anyone. I was 13 when it came out, and it blew my mind. It still holds up, and it definitely in my "top 5 games of all time" list. It's a masterpiece; a classic.
That being said: There is no way they could possibly make a sequel that would match it. It would instantly suffer from "Star Wars Episode 1 syndrome," as people's expectations would be entirely too high for it. I honestly think that is why we have...
How many things can you come up with that EA could stand for other than Electronic Arts?
Electronic Aggravation?
Evasive Affirmations?
Eats Ass?
"GameStop deals" is an oxymoron.
One of the best games of all time is a testament to this: Super Metroid. That game holds up strongly still, and is a nearly flawless experience, despite lacking modern day graphical bells and whistles.
I agree. When people say they don't want to play a game like Limbo, Braid, or Pixeljunk (anything) because the "graphics suck," I want to kick them in the teeth.
How anyone disagreed with this assertion is beyond me...
I don't mind if they keep making God of War as long as they keep innovating, improving, and they keep the series fresh. It isn't like God of War hit some point of stagnation; every title that has come out has been quality.
Agreed. Also: Awesome avatar. Also: I'm afraid it might eat me.
Your comment should have read: "Wii U is for everyone... or my avatar will eat you."
Addendum: I know that metroids don't technically "eat."
When I first played Alone in the Dark (on the 3DO if I remember correctly), it scared the absolute crap out of me. I think it was the ambient sound effects more than anything, honestly. It was a good game, for its day.
People used to talk the same way about film, and there are films which have had great impacts upon the world. Stop downplaying the potential significance of interactive media as an art and form of expression. :P
I can agree with most of your assertions, but allow me a moment to offer a couple points of contention...
I don't believe that a traditional training in journalism, or a degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, is necessarily indicative of skill. One may self-educate in the matters of journalistic form, or become acquainted with the writings of William Zinsser. Said individuals may even exemplify a distinct prowess at journalistic writing, or writing in g...
This is one of the best articles I have read on N$G in a long time. Kudos.
Good review.
