Uggh, I hate DLC. Once I finish a game I don't want to go back to it months or even over a year later. I'm done. The DLC craze that is rampant nowadays tends to cause me to just want to wait until all the DLC is released before I play the game at all. And by then the game might be selling for only $5 in digital sales so they've lost $55 by compelling me to wait. Already I've been thinking about waiting until the 16 free DLCs are released for Witcher 3 before buying it and now ...
Too bad he wasn't in charge when the X1 hardware was designed. I figured MS would turn things around eventually when it comes to policies but there's no getting out of the bad hardware decisions they made.
@DougLord: It doesn't matter if they can actually tell the difference or not. They know PS4 is more powerful because that information is all over the internet and also has had plenty of time to get around by word of mouth. Everybody knows it! In a poll that was done recently asking people why they chose PS4 better resolution than X1 was the reason most often given. Whether you want to believe it or not Mattrick's decision to go cheap on the hardware has hugely effected sales of the co...
Seems more powerful? Well yeah, 6 more GPU compute units will do that.
I think people are remembering Shenmue as being better than what it really was. What I'd like them to bring back is Lost Odyssey. I loved the game and they gave up on Mistwalker much too quickly.
If they care about winning so much why did they make it so weak? Did they really believe that Xbox 360 owners would buy ANY new box that said Xbox on it?
They don't, but at the same time 60 fps is totally unnecessary for a game like this. A solid 30 fps is plenty good enough.
If Witcher 3 really is 900p on X1 with resolution being the only difference between it and the PS4 version I'll be surprised.
It's outselling X1 because it's more powerful, that's all. Policy decisions might have been an issue early on but it ain't about that anymore. Gamers know that most multiplatform games will look a little better on PS4 and that's why it's the better seller.
It doesn't have a monthly fee like a traditional mmo. How many hours were you expecting, like 1000?
Hmm, when I saw the headline I thought it meant something else ... like why the hell do articles about Destiny continue to proliferate all over the net months after its release? At this point I wouldn't at all be surprised if later today I bump into a headline that reads ALERT: Man in Wisconsin farts while playing Destiny.
Mid-range GPU? He considers 1.3 tflops to be mid-range? Not only is it entry-level now but it was when the console launched.
This just makes DDR3 in X1 that much more dumb. They gambled that 512mb GDDR5 chips wouldn't be available in late 2013 and were dead wrong and already manufacturers have found a way to double the capacity again.
It getting an award for engineering and technology is pretty hilarious considering it's weaker than its rival console, is extremely weak vs PC tech that was available at the time, and uses outdated memory when it didn't need to.
So that qualifies as an article? It read like a forum post.
They can't cut the mobile division because that is the future of tech now. Anytime I visit CNET or a tech site like it 90% of the articles are about mobile devices. To remove yourself from mobile is to give up as a tech company. They need to turn it around, that's for sure, but getting out of it is not an option if they want to be a force in technology.
I didn't even know Sony made phones until I read an article several months ago about their financial woes. I know absolutely nobody that owns a Sony phone. But Samsung and Apple phones are everywhere. To turn their phone division around a good start would probably be letting people know they even make them, lol.
They need to bring back Lost Odyssey. It wasn't a hit but it wasn't a failure either. It averaged around a 80 on metacritic, not a bad score, but everybody I know that played it liked it much more than that. It fills a niche on the Xbox platform that it currently lacks.
I did some reading up on this cuz those pics kinda baffled me. From what I can tell it looks like Halo 2 is going to be the only game in the collection to get a substantial graphical overhaul. When it comes to the first Halo you can choose between original Halo:CE and X360's Halo:CE Anniversary, both of which will be in 1080p/60. I'm assuming these pics are from original Halo and not Anniversary cuz my memory is telling me that Anniversary on 360 looked better than these pics. As far ...
Guy destroyed the Xbox brand. Who does he plan to ruin next?
