I don't agree with his reasoning here. When ya put an Xbox "exclusive" on PC as well it lessens how many copies will be sold on Xbox cuz plenty of people say "Why should I buy it for Xbox when I can get it free for PC by downloading it from a torrent site?" Or they wait for a Steam blowout where they buy it for practically nothing anyway.
$10 for digital outfits for fictional characters ... and you might buy it. Just wow.
All this DLC stuff would have crashed and burned shortly after it began had people not bought it. But people did buy it and they continue to buy it so it's gonna keep getting worse and worse. They're gonna keep pushing it further and further until they discover what can't work and so far it's appearing that there's no ceiling. Lots of criticism, sure. But they don't care about that. Only lack of sales will curtail it.
Meh, Mass Effect died with the conclusion of the third one.
The fact remains that PS4 has 6 more GPU compute units in it than X1 does. Most of the time that has translated to higher resolution on PS4 multiplat games but it could be used to go from low to high instead if devs wanted to go that route.
Yeah, I was surprised when I learned the remake wasn't 60 fps during the campaign.
No matter what MS does they're never going to recover from having the weaker machine. Resolution comparisons will haunt them throughout this entire console cycle.
Left out a huge one: more power. Those articles hitting the web all the time saying such and such game runs at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on X1 don't do MS any favors. Pretty much everybody knows PS4 has more juice.
Well, if ya don't buy it then to them it'll just confirm their belief that the game was over-budgeted and parting ways with him was the right thing to do.
Hmm, odd review. He's complaining that the gameplay hasn't been changed but are ya really suppose to change gameplay for a remaster? Just update art, resolution, and framerate. And that's what they did. Hell, plenty of devs don't bother improving the art when doing a remaster but these guys went the extra mile and did it. Not good enough for this guy though cuz apparently he expected it to play like an entirely new game, a strange expectation.
I don't agree that the console launching at $500 was as big a problem as many people say it was. It was the combination of it being $500 and technically weaker than the $400 alternative that was lethal. I believe a $500 X1 could have launched hugely successfully if it didn't come with Kinect but with beefy hardware instead, say GPU capabilities in the 2.5 tflops range (For comparisons sake the X1 we got is 1.3 tflops and PS4 is 1.8) and 12 CPU cores instead of 8. Obviously changes lik...
Was looking for rumors about Lost Odyssey 2 the other day (Will never happen but I keep hoping) and happened to run into what Gamestop will give you for your copy of the original: $1.20. Lol, that's not even worth the time it would take to put your shoes on to bring it to them.
@SteamPowered: A lot of those PC sales are after the games reach just $5 or even lower in Steam blowouts.
There's no fixing the crap hardware he was left with.
The only thing that bothered me about the trailer was the character models. Everything else looked good enough.
If this really is just the first one I don't care. Gotta be a collection to be interesting.
Wait a minute, so it's not the leftist media constantly preaching to them that they should be more feminine and women should be more masculine?
Sony fans should be thanking Don Mattrick. It's all his doing.
He approves the design. Had he said "How's about we make it not suck instead" then it wouldn't.
This article is beyond idiotic. The guy makes out like there isn't Japanese games on Xbox because it's somehow an anti-Japanese device. How can a hunk of circuits and plastic be racist? There isn't Japanese games on Xbox because the Japanese won't buy it. If they would buy it there would be.
