Exactly. I KNEW going into this E3 that Sony's conference would be perceived as a disappointment, simply because there was no way Sony could continue on this pace of out doing themselves every year.
Having said that, it does not change the fact that in terms of actual content, Sony has it like nobody else. As a conference Sony disappointed. However as a platform, they continue to do great work.
I wasn't disappointed in what was actually showed. In fact, most of it I thought looked awesome. The only thing that really disappointed me was not getting to see Sucker Punch's new game. I was hoping that would make an appearance. We already knew The Last of Us 2, Death Stranding, FF 7 Re Make, and Shenmue 3 weren't going to be there. More than anything Sony's conference was merely a re affirmation that PlayStation still has the games.

Not if you watched the pre-show event. They showed Knack 2, GT Sport, Everybody's Golf, Crash N Sane trilogy, Ni No Kuni 2, Matterfall, all coming this year. Plus Uncharted Lost Legacy is 2017. Horizon Zero Dawn DLC is 2017. Days Gone is late 2017. Forgot about the Present? Please! Sony is on top of it!
It was the "JJ Abrams movie" of conferences. Competent, serviceable, non-offending, and completely ordinary.
I honestly thought their show last year was better.
You know, going into this E3 I was really expecting Sony to take a step back and that MS would take the crown this year, especially with MS unveiling new hardware. However after watching that MS conference yesterday I honestly don't think Sony will have to do much to win it again. The only time MS showed anything that garnered a pulse from the audience was when they announced OG Xbox support, LOL. How sad! 2.) Just wait and see. Yes, Scorpio will be impressive hardware. We already know that. However some of you talk like it's going make games on Pro look like junk and that's not going to be the case. It's not damage control, it's just reality.
In reality, who gives a fuck? Checkerboard, sparse, true, what does it matter? Is the game good? Is it fun? Does it PLAY good? Geez I've had more fun the last 2 months on my Nintendo Switch than I've had gaming in a very long time! Game design >>>> raw power all day, every day.
And yet I guarantee you the difference between 3rd party games on Scorpio and Pro will be negligible. Yes, MS will have the bragging rights of "most powerful console" but I don't think Pro owners will have any reason to be jealous.
