Although the Slim could be found at some retailers in the US last week, this was not the case at all in Europe where stocks for the old consoles were very dry.
I'm sure they would love to remove it, but since it is one of the features listed when you buy the system, they can't really remove it as people will complain and probably sue.
I never use it anyway.
I kind of agree. Microsoft for a long time has had the opportunity to include a web browser, but they won't because they want to control what content Xboxers can get and charge for it.
I'll happily use VidZone and iPlayer for free on my PS3!

He actually booted a movie which is why there was not PLAYSTATION 3 text on that boot, but I want to see what it says when a game is booted.

Well in America this year they have been using the Spiderman font but as just PS3 and not PLAYSTATION 3. This change will apply worldwide and in the new font.
We all know that they are getting rid of the pro anyway so it priced at $249 won't do much since it won't be around for much longer.
It has been an issue for a long time, and I'm surprised it has taken this long to respond.
It would be great if we saw backgrounds like them, but everything else looks like the current firmware.

The new PS3 isn't actually called a PS3 Slim. And if you look at it, it really isn't that slim when you compare it to the 'PS2 Slimline'.
One day we will see a REALLY slim PS3 and they will probably officially call it the 'PS3 Slimline'.

It is amount being familiar with the 100+ million PS2 owners. It may be a small thing but it can make a fair difference.

Wakka has failed to notice that this price cut is designed to dry up the remaining stock of the phat consoles.
And already stocks are low, with many stores having nothing to sell.
Now add that to the anticipation of the slim and I think 30% is a good amount, but meaningless considering all the above.
So only 30 euros more?
