Good to see Sony show off their stuff on stock PS4 machines. It sends a good message that the stock PS4 still has a future, although I hope there won't be a trend of incremental updates instead of clear console generations.
Not particularly excited about the majority of Ubisoft's output, but I really can't wait for South Park! So long as it's as funny and ridiculous as the Stick of Truth, this'll be a good'un.
It's definitely one of those games that is still worth playing, even if the overall mechanics haven't aged particularly well. It's just so interesting to see how much Rare got away with, I don't think any other studio could have done it at the time on a Nintendo system.
Yup, the whole thing is ridiculous. There's a real elitism to certain corners of the gaming community, and it doesn't make sense.
Thanks very much :)
And that's the best attitude to have - The game still exists and still plays as it should, and that's the point I'm making in this video. It's just worrying when there are those that would rather boycott an excellent game for the sake of some minor content changes.
I think it's just a Europe release at the moment, released alongside 1080 Snowboarding. I'm sure it'll come to the US soon!
There's definitely a real sense of satisfaction when you punch an opponent at just the right time to knock them out in one blow!
Personally, I liked the soundtrack. It's very Japanese, and I think that's what caused some reviewers to dislike it. Cheesy music is perfectly fine for the tone of this JRPG. The fetch quests are a little long in the tooth, but it's not a dealbreaker.
Hi, this is Lee (the writer of this review). You definitely need to read the game's manual to get a good grasp of what's going on. Quite a lot of the time, you'll be engaged in mechanics that aren't explained 'til far later then you started using them. The manual for this is pretty good though, so it's generally a good reference guide anyway.
Despite that, you're going to love it - It's a nice, beefy JRPG that'll keep you engaged for a very...
Then you've got an agonising wait ahead! Luckily, we're going to have plenty more coverage to tide you over 'til October :)
It really does - Sadly, YouTube compression doesn't give the game justice. The frame rate is quick and mostly smooth. Seriously one of the best looking games this year.
We're going to have a lot more coverage in the coming months, so keep an eye out!
A week ago, I would have said the exact same thing and while it's not a patch on the normal controls, I was really surprised at how well it works. It's a nice feature for someone who wants a slightly more accessible option for combat.
Glad to see this has turned out well! I've been very impressed with Ninja Theory this generation, hopefully this game becomes the success they deserve.
When I look back on all the new releases I've played this year, this game definitely ranks up as one of my favourites. For me personally, that makes it one of the games of the year.
Of course, these things are subjective. But even if you don't agree with my assessment, I guarantee you will enjoy this game. I hear the Vita version is a great version as well.
I'm rather looking forward to getting my hands on this - I saw a developer session for this nearly a year ago, and it's the thing that sold me on the PlayStation Vita.
Agreed - Cross-platform is something I hope more developers/hardware manufacturers will adopt in future generations. There is something so attractive about playing a game at home, then continuing that game when out and about.
When I first previewed the Vita last December, I somehow missed this game and instantly regretted it.
It's interesting that most of the best Vita titles are downloadable games.
This is definitely an open world game to look out for - My experience with the Alpha build was very, very positive!
It already exists - Okamiden on Nintendo DS :)
Also, Fullmetalevolust - Most of Clover pretty much became Platinum Games :)
