I wouldn't go as far to call the Wii's Hardware next gen; control system yes but you have to understand that motion control by itself is a gimmick believe me when I say my friends that own Wii's, used a Gamecube Controller for Super Smash Bros Brawl they called it a necessity to play the game. It is the Dualshock Edition.
You can use the analog stick for all PS1 games its very simple all you have to do is press the PS button while in the game go to Controller Settings select the option Switch Analog Mode by default it will be set to Digital Mode, switch it to the second option Analog Mode that then binds your D-pad controls to your Left Analog Stick. I did this for My copy of MGS 1 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

I've always liked how gaming was not only just a part of entertainment but it is an art just like movies and music and anything else that's mainstream. I remember the good old days where gamers were outcasts for their beloved hobby and now basically almost everyone's mom/dad/grandma can enjoy a video game.
I kinda of feel cheated out of my childhood... Good thing I had Nintendo Power so I could cheat back!
However this was game of the month so its trying to pick on every game instead of specified genre.
Personally me if there should be a Game of the (Month/Year) it should just compare entire Genre instead of every game that's out because with every game there's going to have flaws in it. For instance MGS 4 it got majority of GOTY awards and yet a lot of people didn't like it (I for one loved it!). So unless its just random fanboyness spewing out of their mouths I think the GOTY should truly belong to a game where anyone no matter what console you have what tastes you have you enjoy it.
Well considering the game is suppose to be a successor to Baldurs Gate which originated on the PC then yes the PC version is very much a different game just like Starcraft 64 was a different game from Starcraft (in not a good way either).
