Kingdom Hearts was never about the Final Fantasy characters, any real fan knows this.
They are just there as cameo’s and add zero to the plot. They got Final Fantasy fans interested that’s all.
The original Square-made characters aka Sora Kairi Riku Xemnas Axel along with the Disney Worlds are the heart of the series.
