Of course it’s necessary, it has a gigantic new single player along with all the new multiplayer stuff for less than £40.
Look at Sony re-re-releasing Last of Us for a rip-off £70 with no multiplayer and ask if that is necessary.
If the Switch isn’t a console then neither is the PS5 since i can use remote play to play it on my phone.
