My subscription to Digital Foundary's YouTube channel will give me the best info on that claim.
What playstation needs to do is not get comfy. Work on VR and make that a massive success jumping off of the great reception RE7 has received with VR. Those exclusives teased last year - release them spread out this year. Don't dump games out with no advertising. I want a herb garden...
It's a difficult question to consider. Right now with no info on game updates or even releases alongside Scorpio I would say the console would need a good conversion rate of gamers upgrading the x1's. New microsoft gamers jumping right to Scorpio is going to be extremely difficult due to Sony's first party catalogue of original games on ps4. Jumping into gears 4 isn't appealing in my opinion. I know you have BC for Xbox but that's not what you buy the Scorpio for right out...
The next gen is 4k with 60fps. In fact that's when it needs to stop. For all gamers to catch up, their TVs and sound system within a reasonable price range. Scorpio will be there for the dedicated market and then that generation needs to last about 15 years. Could there really be any further major development other than A.I. and game design that the new console generation couldn't handle?
Hey Ori dev, I get it. Microsoft are trying to kick start the next gen a few years early with a beast of a machine, but trying to maintain that this is just an expensive stop gap until the next gen actually begins. Whereas Sony's self proclaimed mid gen upgrade is labelled half assed because why? They didn't want the new console to cost ps3 level again...like the Scorpio will? I can hold off for a few more years when Sony want to whole ass it.
@Neonridr In my opinion, I think devs were waiting for the reception of RE7 on VR to see if it was worthwhile for another triple A first person game to get to grips with including VR in development. I would say stay tuned for E3 but that seems too long a wait for the next big release for VR..
Everyone is treating this like a secondary console but Nintendo.
If you're complaining you can't use your Netflix account on a console that's not even out yet. What were watching it on before?
I'm really looking forward to this game's return to horror and puzzles. I'm a fan of the first person perspective as well but probably too scared to play it in vr...
Well said. They need the studios to back them up. If your only interest is third party games then the Scorpio will be the console you want, but they need the exclusives to convert gamers to their brand. Only having a handful of games for maybe this year (then what?), the Scorpio doesn't look like a great investment at the moment. I'm eagerly looking forward to E3 to see what both sides will announce, but the glaringly obvious statement is Microsoft need to invest and not just in timed...
I don't think someone who has to deal with stockholders would be saying "ah crap, that's it guys we've not got much left"
He's gonna work to build up other games in their line up so it feels like Scalebound won't be missed. Whether or not he has games to fill the void.
Maybe Red Dead Redemption crunch time in overdrive? Or they didn't even have the support to help with that? Hope he gets well soon. 4 years down and nothing to show for it now...
Oh wow. I can see Microsoft quickly grabbing their wallets to save their E3 show. I'm sure they've got some exclusives up their sleeve to show off the Scorpio's power, but this being one of their big exclusives for the year, there will be a noticeable absess when the conference runs. Good luck to them, hope nothing else goes wrong.
This would motivate me to finish the first one haha
I was about to say "considering how long this has been in development it would be a bit stupid to limit this to one console to try and recoup development costs." Then I remembered the Last Guardian just launched last month exclusive to PS4 haha
I can't stand Pachter and his vague predictions that only a middle aged woman seeing a medium would cling to. Hints wants to keep pushing elder scrolls online, he won't mention VI any time soon
I thought it already changed with Alien: Colonial Marines? With review embargoes and all that I think the key phrase will always be "wait a couple of days before buying it."
Phil, you may not like the practice but having years of exclusivity with COD, paying for GTA IV DLC, and the Division timed DLC (and I'm sure a deal set with Ubisoft), you have to admit your team is mainly responsible for the practice. Sony has come back at you with the practice, but they've also got the first party studios on a main assault. I do want you to succeed as you are a better head than the previous guy, and I think you need more first party studios to do that. Just leave th...
And now the planet can rest...
How should it answer the boost mode? I don't know, give it a chance to release first?
That's like a toddler insulting a baby still in the womb and the parents just went "Daaaaammn, son - you just got served!" But this has been the ultimate problem from the beginning and we may all eat our words but the Scorpio has only ever been spoken about and not road tested. Once E3 rolls around and a few places like Digital Foundry get to grips with it, we not know wh...
