"Microsoft’s Xbox One X 4K Focus Will Push Competitors To Follow Suit – Crytek"
"Normal console cycles mean 4K will be a more common thing when achievable with cheaper components. Upgrading consoles is a normal part of this industry. - Captain Obvious"
It's good of them to pay for console exclusivity, but it's only for the pre-release version. But Sony don't allow early access games on their system...so the exclusivity is kind of pointless.
For all the people saying the frame rate is bad and texture and asset pop in is bad - it is still a pre-release game. It is not going to be perfect. It will take awhile for the kinks to be worked out, but any player will know tbat going in. Every review I've still says this versi...
It's day one in early access, I would be annoyed if they said this was the finished game. I'm sure the PC version had some teething issues (probably not this bad) but it's not going to be amazing right from the start.
...Are you sure?
Because Square Enix loved the reception of episodic Hitman? Tomb Raider doesn't lend itself to the playground Hitman has.
But also, the message doesn't sound like that at all. It sounds more like the reveals Bethesda do or the reveals that announce quick release dates. It will be a short period of time between announcement and playing it. Major event could be something in the calendar that will relate to Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
If you're playing on the Switch for the visuals, you'll always be disappointed comparing them to another console. You buy it for the handheld gameplay!
I'm still annoyed about the Dead Space franchise. The focus on micro transactions before the release of the third game was another bad moment for EA in the press, and yet they will not learn!
Couple that with a co-op, that just sounds like a compromise for Visceral not to try and shoehorn multiplayer in again (ooo, I'll play as the tentacled dog this time!). Very successful first release gets meddled with until gamers don't want it, and then the publisher blames...
Games increase to $80 - a hypothetical - would mean gamers want to buy less games at launch to justify the expense. Publishers put more emphasis on focus group results telling them what gamers want and then put every point into their one flagship title, so this title can be one of the few gamers consider to pay full price for. Title fails because it does too much to please everyone that it ends up pleasing no one. Rinse and repeat.
Micro transactions have been included for...
The compromise is stop having massive studio teams live or die on one game. The compromise is to know your audience better than to stick content behind unobtainable progression walls. Don't allow pay to win. Don't blame the market when your game fails when all you did was destroy it yourselves (I'm looking at you Dead Space 3). Don't put all your eggs in one basket then watch it catch fire cause the audience focus on one god awful and greedy part about it.
If the game had the length everyone expected then yeah a sequel would be incoming. Still can't believe how short it turned out to be...
That's a big hill to climb, good luck!
I'm of the thinking that Sony didn't want the game either. Insomniac would have pitched the game to Sony around the same time Sucker Punch would be working on Infamous Second Son. Bit too close in setting might have meant Sony wasn't interested, and to top it off they wouldn't own the franchise, so why knowingly let the game be published on your system while you would be pimping the open world game you have the rights to?
The game left off this list - Dead Space 3 - can certainly be dubbed "when EA meddled". Co-Op and Micro Transactions for pay to win I felt killed the hype for this game leading up to release. Such a shame that the franchise was abandoned after that.
Sad that EA can just shelf this great company to save themselves some money, they certainly don't know what consumers want. I hope the staff at Visceral Games can find other work quickly.
Hi Daily Star, that's a bit clickbait-y. Anyway, well done Xbox on your one game.*
*comment a bit thumbs down-y :P
If the game had followed what was originally planned, then yes this would still be Destiny 1. I think that is what originally hooked me with the pitch for the game. Shame it didn't come to fruition like that.
"Do you have my back?"
"Always, Dutch."
Does this confirm it's a prequel? Damn it looks beautiful. Looking forward to seeing more gameplay
Sucks that this came back to bite him in the ass. I haven't read the posts but I would look at it as a guy who would strive to do better for them rather than do the minimal.
If I wanted the best in 4K, I would buy a PC. Stop with the stupid comparisons and realise this is not all of what it is about for customers. Microsoft have chased 4K and I only seem to have Forza to show that off...
Obvious thing to do as Sega will have seen the popularity of the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter. If they do a proper remaster it would definitely be a must buy for me to go alongside the third entry.
Really sorry but half of this list is MultiPlatform - I cannot justify a new console purchase (which the headline suggests), with potential resolution and framerate improvements. Compare exclusives to exclusives and then the leap over would be more justifiable.
