I think that companies need to chill out. That and if the cost of making an AAA is so high that their is no profit, then that business model is broken. That and I think that Tomb which was only released on the 16th has sold over a million. This could be more of Square-Enix freaking out than anything else. Major corporate restructuring is underway.

Their last two western titles Deus Ex was well received and Tomb Raider looks good. They need to return to what made them a power house in the first place.
It is too bad that we are loosing some of the niche genres so that they can become this all product that everyone will enjoy. Its strange many games prove that if you do your thing and do it well then the consumers will support it. But some publishers are so terrified about sale numbers that they hamstring the franchise. Look at XCOM and Darksouls two brutal games that buck a lot of current trends both beloved by a huge fan base.

I guess this article makes sense its not always online because the company hates consumers its always online because its an MMO. If there is a subscription fee then I will pass.
I don't think the controller will be to accommodating those top down games are always awkward, you gotta move with one stick and the aiming is where I get annoyed. We shall see, looks like they are correcting all the things we hate about the extras around the game.
Sony more often than not lets there exclusives take all the time they want to get out a great game, maybe other publishers should uh ya know follow in their lead.

I think the list could go into the hundreds, it was humorous though.
I think both of the GOW franchises have run a very similar path, both have completed a trilogy that were staples of the industry, the studios decided to make prequels. Both seem to be highly enjoyable but are being knocked due to a real lack of need for the game in the franchises universe.
I think the vast majority of gamers has written this off as call of zombies with a Darryl skin. That and maybe just maybe Walking Dead fatigue is starting to rear its head.
