A lot of those aren't Sony's servers. Many of them are Gamespys or even people's personal servers. EA uses their own servers for their games though.

The only thing I hope is that the 'smaller' versions of the maps that the consoles are getting don't feel like those linear bad company maps. I fully expect huge, wide open conquest battles, just not AS large as the PC version for obvious player-count reasons. BF2MC may have had its problems but map design wasn't one of them, so I expect the BF3 maps on consoles to feel like the maps in that game at least.
Uncharted fans like to believe that Tomb Raider & Indiana Jones doesn't exist. Because suddenly Uncharted wouldn't be so original then.

I think it all just depends on how you play. For example you could run around with a dildo bat the entire game, or you could play a more conventional way and use standard gun weapons.

Considering the singleplayer trailer did have an in-vehicle animation, it brought up alot of speculation. So yes I would consider it news in this case.
The servers for BF2MC have been up since 2005... its not financially feasible for them to continue to keep servers for that game especially when there have been so many new BF games released since then.
