Hmm... That divides things into 2 kinds of people. Those that want MP and those that don't care. Now, if I don't care about MP what should I do? Should I buy the game and support their corporate greed and removing features from the game I paid for (I'm more likely to play over LAN than online)? Or should I download the game instead as an act of protest, to show them that I don't like if someone screws with me?
That's a tough choice, isn't it? Or maybe not so...
Microsoft doesn't ditch PC so much any more, so most games coming to XBox 360 will show up on PC at some point. The question is, when?
This game looks good, so I'd really like to see it on PC.
ALSO,
THIS IS NOT AN ANSWER TO OUR CONCERNS. THIS IS JUST BS ;-) The all I can say is nothing statement doesn't make it any clearer if the game is cancelled or not.
They did Wallace and Gromit without even trying to look like claymation. Come one, a simple filter that pretends it's claymation would be nicer than the crappy 3D they're doing.
Noe Monkey Island -> couldn't they share the code with LucasArts and do it in lieu of Secret of Monkey Island remake? I really don't understand that.
It might be good though. I'll wait until it's on sale on Steam and grab all episodes altogether!
It's yet another example where piracy concerns lead to crippling the game for those who pay for it.
I'd venture a bet -> there will be a way to play pirated version multiplayer. I don't know how, but piracy always prevails (I'm just saying; this is neither a statement for piracy nor against).
So, you pay, you loose, you don't pay, you win. Here's your definite proof that I'm right:

Easy to say when you're on the other side of the fence... Salaries in USA are similar to those in UK, but EVERYTHING costs about half of what we have here...
And it's not the taxes. I'm now in Switzerland where taxes are low (7% or something) and games are ridiculously expensive here too. How will you explain that? Greed. Simple, mindless greed.
Buahahahahahahaha....
Nice one! 110 GBP? I really, REALLY, R-E-A-L-L-Y wonder who is going to buy this.
And its from the same stupid publisher (yes, I mean you ACTIVISION) that says PS3 is too expensive and demands a price drop? No wonder - they need to sell this somehow.
Who is this Pacher guy? Sounds like idiot... Is having big mouth what it takes to be an analyst these days? Pathetic ;-) Draw stupid conclusions + make lot of noise = congrats, you're an analyst! (same with stock markets! there are so many idiot analysts posting ridiculous comments that reading some websites becomes a chore; I just look at the graphs these days...)
Love the header. The logic processor in my head crashed badly rendering me unconscious ;-)
Regarding ICCUP - I think emulation is legal. PS2 emulator is up and running, Wii emulator is up and running, Wine is up and running. There is no legal basis to 'deal with' 'pirate server' like ICCUP ;-) If they emulate BattleNet, there's not much Blizzard can do about it.
I like GRID ;P
Anyways, shd I have PS3, I'd be happy to play GT5. Shd I have X360, I'd be happy to play Forza 3. Shd I care who's 'the definitive racing game'? Nope. I don't give a damn.
All this silliness with new NFS, Forza and GT5 is just about who's got a bigger one and that doesn't interest me much as a gamer.
What's up with that? Where's the problem?
If Blizzard were making money on Battle.net and someone came along and started stealing their business, I would understand they're upset. But If Starcraft (2) is free to play on-line, why do they care if someone is playing somewhere else?
Unless they're planning on charging money to play on Battle.net.......
After Vista fluke, Microsoft did something right ;-) I don't use Windows, but I play games (I play what I can from under Linux, rest from Windows), so I'm happy about Windows 7 coming soon.
For multi-os folks -> look up the demo of Citrix hypervisor based on Xen. It looks awesome. Switching between OSs like switching between windows with very little overhead.
This game is really sweet and quite challenging too!
air1: Sony and few others (Blue-Ray consortium or whatever it's called) own rights to Blue-Ray and anyone who wants to release something on Blue-Ray, has to pay.
Same stuff with DVD - want to release stuff on DVD, pay up; those that come up with formats do it for money ;-)
Also, you have to pay Microsoft per EACH DVD you're releasing for Xbox too (Carmack was making comments about it a while ago). So it's expensive to release 2xDVD games and companies do it only if t...
Who knows if it woudl happen without the PS3. But here we are and HDDVD is dead and all we can do is to visit its grave.
Bottom line, Sony won. So the Blue-Ray in PS3 is not a bad idea. And they probably make zillions on licences for Blue-Ray; hell, even DVD licences were expensive and for Blue-Ray, they make a lot for each disk.
So when you consider profitability, you should consider that.
hmm... I wanted to try it and then maybe buy it, but I could get it running; it would just crash :S
I'm not a great fan of historical RTS games (I prefer sci-fi or ancient history), but this looks interesting. Maybe I'll give it a try once I upgrade my PC.
Sooner or later... Anyone heard about Mass Effect? Or Gears of War? Those games were never to leave Xbox; and here we are.
Bottom line: the article says the truth. I don't give a damn about Fable 2 while it's on Xbox, I might buy it (probably would) if it comes to PC.
MS hyped the hell out of this game, it's no point keeping it console exclusive. And since PC is excluded from console wars (games are still called exclusive, even though they are on the console and PC; ...
If they could, they would. I think Blue-Ray is major cost when it comes to PS3. If it wasn't for the BR, it could have been much much cheaper. (I also think that it's the only thing now that could cut the cost). The problem is, you have stripped down version of Xbox and it makes sense, while stripped down version of PS3 simply doesn't.
You can't get rid of BR or HDD and unless they have a major improvement in manufacturing process, you can't get the CPUs cheaper either.
<...
But I can't help to notice that RTS genre has moved forward; and here we are, back in the good old Starcraft days.
DoW, DoW II brought a lot of new stuff to the table; or just see videos of Supreme Commander 2 (Supreme Commander 1 was also cool). I think they could chage Starcraft a bit to go with the times (imagine Starcraft II with the scale of Supreme Commander; then you could show real differences; imagine hundred and hundreds of zergs...)
Well, there's room for ...
Maybe the LAN support will show up as a DLC :P You'd have to pay $30 for the unlock code and it will turn out that the functionality is already there! That would be the sign of our times... Progress!
