i didn't like 8 at all. it might be my least favorite ff game. i'd even put 13 above it.
i prefer quake 3 as my go to FPS so naturally I will compare all arena shooters to it.
they won't. it's gonna be another newb friendly game just like the new doom. they want sales to the masses, not a hardcore shooter for the minority fans.
the labels are so damn small and barely visible. every time I try to eject a disc my ps4 goes into rest mode unless I put my face up to the console
10 is my personal favorite as well. followed by 9, 7, 6, 4 in that order.
you're right. the original doom had very basic mp as it was one of the first games to do it. doom eventually evolved into quake 3 which is imo the pinnacle of arena shooters. if the new soon were to have good multiplayer mechanics they should've based it off the quake series.
unfortunately for sales and accessibility, they needed to make a cod clone. and seeing how a lot of people are backing up this game on this forum it looks like they've made the right busin...

completely fair review. repetitive single player campaign and mediocre dumbed down multiplayer. 7.1 might even be a bit high
what are you talking about? no one is adhd or demanding anything. it's called being fans of the developer and looking forward to what they'll make next.
the souls series is open world enough. what do you want? objective lists? arrows pointing where to go for missions? fetch quests?
souls games are praised for being different from everything else. why would you want it to be just like every other game?
ok so i can understand how some people will complain about the lack of content even though i don't agree with it. i'd much rather be able to play the game early than to wait for a bunch of modes i probably wont even play. but this guy complaining about the gameplay mechanics? come on man.
this guy claims to be a tournament level player but all i've heard from pros are praise for this game. he claims randomness, easy execution, luck, etc. but look at tournament ...
psplus has been awful the past couple of years but i'm actually looking forward to tabletop racing next month.

everything that took skill is gone. map knowledge, item timing, map control, its near impossible to miss with the slow movement, they give you wall hacks, the "rail gun" aim cursor covers half the damn screen.

it's a dumbed down, generic modern shooter. it's made exactly for you.
the "betas" which are coming out these days (some literally within a couple weeks of release) are not designed to gather feedback from gamers.
as for the criticism on doom, people are complaining about the game mechanics and design choices, not technical issues such as bugs or server problems. the complaints are fully justifiable.
same thing happened to me. bloodborne was my first souls game and i remember playing the first part of the game for hours and having no progression. after learning how the game works and completing it, its one of the best games i've ever played.
i then went on to play ds2, demon's souls, and am currently playing ds1 before i jump into ds3. its now my favorite series.
if you've played any arena shooter semi-competitively then you should already know this mp is a joke. sorry if the cod gamers dont get it.
i hope they don't make it seeing how they butchered doom. i'm a huge fan of quake. played it religiously as a kid.
