My guess would be dev's didn't have ideas of how to portray it properly while keeping an audience engaged and publishers didn't see it as a profitable market. Ah gotcha. I got my one X just before April and have been working through a slew of games and found it odd that this option wasn't explored in more titles but that would explain it.
The option of 4k@30 or 1440@60 should of been on options for both mid gen consoles in titles that would support it. 1440 is a resolution sweets spot too often ignored by console development teams.
Reviews should be written by anyone who wants to write them. Then it's up to the readers to decide what they see as valid it not, such as we do now. There's plenty of 'critics' that can't play games for shit so rank them lower because they were difficult and the reviewer didn't understand it.
