Maybe microsoft doesn't want to ignore JRPGs again, maybe they don't care and focus on Kinect and FPSs. Anybody who played JRPGs knew that DVD9 were not enought this gen. Some PS2 games were already on 2 DVD9s...

Well, most Japanese game dev are going portable since this is what's successfull in Japan. That's why Sony's plan is to unite portable and home console gaming (with Vita and PSP remasters) so that the same games can come out in the East and West's favorite platforms.
Wow. That's the budget of a PS2 game (except it's sold for 15$ instead of 50) ! Awesome!
The reality is that the biggest japanese franchises are now handheld (DQ IX, MonHun, Pokemon) because whether you like it or not this is where Japanese gamers play. Hence a flow of quality JRPGs are now on portable, from TWEWY to Radiant Historia, and this situation will only be fixed if Sony manages to unite the handheld and console markets, which seemed to be one of the objectives of the Vita and PSP remasters, so that the same games can appear on both.
