I used to feel cool killing hordes of guys in AC games...thinking I had "l33t skillz". But then I started watching playthroughs on YouTube and realized even noobs can have "l33t skillz" in Assassin's Creed.
TLDR: Assassin's Creed needs to stop humping easy mode.
@Logicwins
Because maybe I didn't jump to the conclusion that just because she's a girl gamer she's too retarded to play a game beyond easy mode? How is that any better than assuming she's too young to play the game?
LOL @ all the bad assumptions in this discussion.
If your daughter ain't 17 you should be telling her to "GTFO of the room" playing an M-rated game like Assassin's Creed.
It's a game for a mature audience. Hard mode or go home.
LOL
All the changes for Diablo 3 were terrible. That's not even Diablo anymore.
And WTF is up with the RMAH and always-on DRM? Who in their right mind would call themselves a gamer supporting anti-gaming institutions like that? WTF? Really?
Well put.
If you buy DOA it's all about T&A. No sense complaining about the size of the melons on the stand if you know what the vendor sells.
But in some other games the over-sexualization can become a deterrent to what the game is trying to convey and in the end it makes the game itself feel cheap and shallow.
Why would you tell a bunch of raging gamers who just lost a match in an intense FPS game that you're gay?
I'm just really curious what purpose that really serves in the gaming community...talking about sexual orientation when it has nothing to do with anything?
I can't remember the last time I complained about a noob. I know I kind of hate teaming with them on games like APB because really, newbs who don't know their way around the city WILL cause you a win, but otherwise noob-hating has taken a backseat in my book to DLC, disc-locked content, online passes, free-to-play gouging, season passes, online passes and piss poor rent-a-servers.
Someone's spent waaaay too much time with Ron Jeremy.
I thought it was three-quarters died? It must have healed itself with a marketing buff to increase the player-base briefly.
Meh. RIP RE.
DayZ is the new king of survival horror, where instead of facing off against a large tentacle monster you're trying not to piss your pants as some bandits chase you through the woods yelling out "Here piggy, piggy, piggy" while zombies claw at your face.
WTF? Why did you assume it was a girl?
It's got a dude's name. Alternatively you could have just said "Amen to that, you thing."
It's a lot more hospitable and a much nicer thing to say than to assume it's a strudel or a pie.
Just rewatch the dang E3 video.
Dude, it's a standard third-person shooter.
You can't even say how it isn't, which is why you got so many disagrees.
It's a slowed-down version of Gears of War with Capcom characters and zombies. Period.
I'm sorry but you don't explain how it's not
"just another shooter" by saying it.
I've watched videos (lots of them) of RE6 in action and it is indeed just another third-person shooter with zombies. It's practically a slower-paced version of Gears of War with Resident Evil characters.
You can argue until you're blue in the face but the evidence is in the videos or have you forgotten all about this little gem right ...
@ development cost comment
Dev costs aren't rising anymore than they have in previous gens. Tools are actually cheaper now than any gen before. You can use Unity and build a game that works on iOS and then scale it to PC, PS3, Xbox 360, etc,. and have it maintain its visual fidelity.
They use the "dev costs are rising" argument so they can hike up prices on crappy games. If you notice a lot of high quality games on Steam are real cheap, yeah? W...
What about physics effect? There's a HUGE gap between the physics in Battlefield 3 on PC and Battlefield 3 on consoles.
What about player count? Current gen consoles will never be able to handle games like Planetside 2, TERA or the PC version of Defiance.
What about for people who want more detailed gameplay mechanics? Like advanced AI or more bustling open-world environments where things are bustling outside of a 10m radius. Ubisoft already admitted th...
I agree that the console fees are waived but development and marketing on mobile are now practically the same for home consoles.
Did you know that because of the advancement in mobile technology the tools and assets can be shared cross-platform? A few companies have even done so but they were middle-tier games that most people never heard of.
Unfortunately, if you look at all the games flooding the mobile market you actually don't have that high of a chan...
lol except a "high return" isn't guaranteed.
Look at the real stats of mobile gaming, there are more horror stories than success stories. Even Rovio admitted that success or garnering profit returns from mobile is a long shot because of all the stiff competition (i.e., lots of shovelware and crap)
Basically, Activision sounds like they want to make shoddy ports and spend most of their money out-muscling the indie and middle-tier devs with super-...
