They never make "money" on hardware. Sony is making 8 bucks on every PS2 sold. Money is in software, so piracy is awful for these companies.
But there is one benefits from selling all of this "modded" consoles. You never make money out of hardware but on software. That is why you need more hardware to sell so you can make money on software, its that simple. For example Sony is "making" only 8 bucks on each PS2 sold but that is ok, they will make a lot of money on software. As they do with PS2 and did with PS1
They were always multi platform developer. Some of their IP titles were exclusive to Sony, but like i said "some" were exclusive and will continue to be.
This is totaly new IP therefore it's natural for them to go multi platform.
All this "pirat" sh!t began with CD format and it can't be stoped now.

I think this will be so POPULAR in Japan. There are so many Anime shows where characters use some cards or something like it to summons creatures. Japanese are really into that. So yeah i think this is a "sleeper" even though it's not something that interest me
