I certainly took advantage of that deal. I've heard it's the best Battlefield game out of them all, so I'm hoping it doesn't disappoint, even though the graphics may be very outdated.
What's the Vietnam expansion like? Does it change anything about Battlefield other than new maps, vehicles and weapons, like does it change the controls?
Because if it changes the controls back to what Battlefield 1943 had them like, then I'm definitely in, but if it's just Bad Company 2 controls with new content, then it will just be a waste of money to me.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. Both games provide something different, and both are masters in their area, which is why neither game should be like one another.

Honestly I'd much rather play Mass Effect 2 than a game like Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2. Mass Effect has a great story, something which is absent from most games these days.
I love my ps3 and I'm certainly no xbox 360 fanboy (in fact, I only have about 8-10 games for my 360, where as for my ps3, I have like 42 or 43 games NOT including downloadable PSN games), but I'd rather spend my time playing Mass Effect 2.

Not really.
It doesn't offer fast paced, arcade style action. That's why even hardcore gamers still like Call of Duty games, is because no other console FPS provides that fast paced online shooter action, and Bad Company 2 is FAR FROM being fast paced.
There's really not A LOT more objectives in Battlefield then there is in Call of Duty.
There's repair, ammo supply for your team mates, and healing. Black Ops actually has more modes and a bigger variety of modes than Battlefield games (at least the Bad Company games, I'm not sure about bf2) have.

Some people still have fun with the game, so who in the hell are you to tell them that they are wrong? What makes Call of Duty a mindless over something like Killzone 2 or Bad Company 2? Hmm? Because they both have the same objectives: kill, die, respawn, kill, die, respawn rinse and repeat. Of course the formula changes as you change modes, and becomes kill, capture/destroy objective, die, respawn, rinse and repeat.

You could say Bad Company 2, but that would be stupid seeing as how they are two completely different games.
If Call of Duty is to be toppled, then a dev needs to create a fast paced, arcade style shooter with as much or more customization than Call of Duty.

Bad Companies maps, while big, aren't very well designed though. Most of it is just empty space for you to spend 2-3 minutes running through just to get to something that isn't a long, empty road, highway, desert, forest, etc.
So sure, I suppose putting tons of empty and inactive space in your maps could take up the space of 3 CoD maps, but who would really want that? Not me. I prefer more structures to big empty space which nobody uses.
