Seriously, grow up.
Just because a game gets a low(ish) score from a certain site/magazine doesn't mean they can't be trusted, idiot.
Some of you have said that you've trusted EDGE for a long time but because of the one off low scores, you'll never go to them again. What the hell?
Oh and to the idiot near the start of the comments who said that Left 4 Dead doesn't have much replay value, you clearly have no idea what you are going on about. The game probably has more then mo...
Really? Whats the point?
Your actually an idiot.
There is QUITE a bit of difference between a PC and a PS3.
For a start, a PC costing that much would obliterate EVERY game that was released on the PS3 for the next 5 years.
Then there is all the other stuff which a PC can do. What can a PS3 do what a PC can do? Browse the internet? Fantastic... /sarcasm.
I played the first gears, a lot. I pretty much slept, drank and ate Gears of War for almost a year and a half straight. And its safe to say that I MUCH prefer the shotgun now, it takes so much more skill to master it, its perfect. The only thing I don't like is the chainsaw because they just keep comin' no matter what.
If they patch it, and change it so there is a higher chance the player revving the chainsaw will stagger, the multiplayer will be fine.
I have no RAM in my computer, according to System Requirement Labs anyway, although I'm pretty sure its there as I can see it through the window of my computer. Haha.
Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
4GB 800MHZ RAM
Nvidia 9800GTX+
And a broken power supply, which was fried by the card. :D
The rig that Foxgod is speaking of would set you back around $1.5k-2k (tops) and a rig like that would last you years, and still destroy every game known to man for the next few years too.
His rig would obliterate Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2.. You cleaarly have not seen Crysis: Warhead on very high specs with full AA on.
you mean the time it happened during Christmas last year, the only time Live has ever properly gone down due to huge increase of users signing up to the service? Thought so..
I've had Live since it originally came out, and that has been the only time it has ever screwed up properly.
+ Thats one of the reasons for the free month of Live you are given when you sign up, it covers things such as that.
I thought that none of the servers were hosted by Sony? And they were all hosted at whatever company the game was designed at? I thought they were anyway...
To get people to pay for PSN.
Sony could easily bring in something similar to how Games for Windows Live used to work (before it came free).
Say they could call it the 'platinum' service, where the people who pay for that specific service will be able to use high quality servers and are given free downloads of premium themes etc. while the people who don't pay, are still able to play online, however there stuck with the lower end servers. This is one thing I could see Sony doing ...
That is the really odd part though, I have no lag what so ever online, it just seems to be downloading.
The worst part about it is I gave the PS3 priority on my router, and its still going stupidly slow.
Maybe it could be a dodgy wi-fi/wireless card within the PS3? Thats all I can really think it is.
It definitely isn't my internet speed.
I downloaded the Mirrors Edge demo on the 360 in 30 minutes, it took me almost 3 hours on the PS3.
Its not just features, Live is a lot more reliable and there is a significant(?) speed difference in downloads.
I would happily pay for PSN if it means downloads speeding up.. they seem to take forever on the PS3.
there is a option to turn off the Sixaxis totally.
I'm loving the look of Killzone 2, and I really can't wait for it however I've never liked Sixaxis, ever. Having to hold the controller steady in one place, bugs me a lot as I move a lot while I play.
Dude, what are you smoking to think that all Microsoft do is copy Sony?
that when you sign up to Live you are given a month free anyway? Does that not make up for the month it was down?
Plus didn't they give us something back for the Christmas mess up? If I remember rightly, they did.
That the Home report Kotaku ran was originally a rumor, so they had no reason to take it down.
In the Kotaku article they stated over and over again it was a rumor.
Did Sony ever claim that Play TV was HD ready anyway? I don't remember them ever stating it.
I don't understand how people on N4G (and this thread specifically) can go on about how lazy the developers are etc.
Why the hell did you think they went to Sony in the first place if they didn't want it on the PS3? They could of just left it, scrapped the idea of it coming out on the PS3 and only made it for the other platforms.
If ANYTHING you should be thanking Volition, for going through with the extra effort for calling in the help and getting it working on the PS3.
...
for the love of god can people please get the native resolution for Halo right, if your trying to prove someone wrong at least get your facts straight.
Halo 3 = 2 x 640p, the reason why they 'claim' its 1080p native.
I've seen people list several different resolutions within these comments.
I think you are a bloody idiot.
I doubt you OR your nephew who is 6 can right to anywhere near the standards of EDGE reviews. Considering you can't even type properly and use proper grammar and punctuation in a COMMENT BOX its very doubtful you'll be able to do it on a well written and detailed review for a widely respected gaming magazine.
Oh & before you start judging EDGE, at least read the review.. They WILL have decent reasons for why they were given low scores, EDGE actu...
