This company has only ever made 1 type of game. It’s not a valid response. Whenever a company tries something new they run the risk of it not being great. Look at the developers behind Left4Dead they tried to make Evolve and it almost bankrupt them....

The gameplay looks fun and polished but I feel like it will become quite repetitive. Housemarque has a reputation for making very fun arcade twin stick shooter but this is the first AAA game they’ve attempted. If one more idiot says the The Last of Us part 2 is about revenge I’m gonna scream. It’s no more about revenge than the first one is about finding a cure! Plot and story are different things.
TLOU2 is about grief, absolution, obsession, loss, and love. Mostly it’s about the terrible things we do for love, whereas the first one is about the amazing things we do for love.
You do know the reason RE played the way it did was because of hardware and software limitations? They made it work, but not changing with the times makes gaming stagnant.

Battlefield is iconic for large “battlefields”, go figure. Smaller maps work better for call of duty type gameplay.
Battlefield is suppose to feel grand in scale with all types of transportation, ground and air combat.
The leaks I’ve read sound promising. “bF3/4 on steroids”, very destructible environments, 120+ players in game, back to its roots.
