Those trailers blew me away, those graphics and music made me go back to my teenager years. Highly anticipated here. I wonder what Sony's master plan is though. Hoping they are meaning to show it off at Gamescom.

Indeed - apparently the frame-rate on the PS4 gets locked instantly when it drops below 30 in certain cut-scenes. This isn't supposed to happen and should be fixed.
I don't see the Xbox One version being upgraded to 1080p
Valid point there m8. I believe it was Phil Spencer himself who confirmed that the Xbox One will benefit somewhat from DX12 but not as much as people are expecting.
They are talking about further tweaking performance. Not unusual in recent titles. Apparently the PS4 version performs somewhat better on the PS4 compared the XO version and the team made some improvements on the Xbox One that the PS4 also benefits from (a little). I wonder though how much DX12 will affect performance on the Xbox One.

I don;t think that i've seen any patch notes apart from the PC patch notes for 1.03 and 1.04. The console patches will include fixes to the frame-rates and other reported issues by the community though.
Remasters are fasion nowadays. The game was a blast on the PS3 and of coure im getting it on the PS4. Whether I enjoy it as much on the PS4 as I did on the PS3 remains the questions - probably not as it's not entirely new but still
