I don't care about scores but I believe it's not a common thing. If people don't need scores so why are there so many game review sites and so many discussions over scores, meta and so on? The press write reviews because they believe they influence other peoples' opinions.

Any facts to support your claim? Mine are lower scores for sequels to some franchises like LBP, GT, Killzone, just to mention a few, which are bigger, better and improved games with extended features. Yet, they get lower scores than their predecessors.

PS3 exclusives are getting much lower scores these days. It's because some people are frustrated with PS3 getting ahead.
